Roger that Sir.
This should fix it.
I adjusted to 19.3 on the mast.
Is that OK?

At a glance, that looks fine to me!
The same fix is already included in OLC GUI Special (the Ubermod version of the GUI). I'd better remove it, otherwise folks might complain about JSGME conflicts after installing your fix.
Cheers.

No problem Mate.
If you find any others?
Let me know and I'll correct as needed.
I know I don't say it?
But you got some really fine mods out there.
The menu stuff scares the crap outta me!
Your GUI is my favorite though.
For what that is worth.

Hello Onelifecrisis!

Your mod is nothing short of brilliant...
As I play SH4 1.5 mostly, I would ask you if theres any chance that you would make a version for that (SH4) too?

If not too bad but it makes SH3 definately more profi IMHO.

Thanks, Trebb

Hello Onelifecrisis,
just wanted to say i installed and modded a new SH3 just to make sure, and use your OLCE2 mod with the 1.2.6. GUI.
Then i made some night surface attacks, and this time i was able to get right in to some 600 meters distance in a convoy without being spotted, early in 1940. One time they did not see me at all, i did not fire a torp just to test the perception !

Seems i screwed up my install or whatever before, however it does work now. I have some problems with the distance check in GUI 1.2.6, when i am am near a target (closer than say 500 meters) the 1.5 zoom will show me a distance of 2000 meters or so - but it may be my fault.

[Edit: Using OLCE2, GUO 1.2.6, the torpedo school mission you used in the tutorial. I am at PD, speed=0, looking through the 'scope.
Magnification 6: Distance to the tramp steamer measured now is "13" height, so checking double mast height the target is around 930 meters away.
Magnification 1.5 (no zoom): Distance is now 3 and a half, wheel turned to scratch mark, distance now around 830 meters.
"Zellen ausblasen" / surface without turning props , 0 knots, surfaced. Asking my watch officer the target is 700 meters away.
Huh ? Am i doing something wrong ? ]

Anyway the night attack possibility is great ! Just wanted to tell you, i am instantly back to SH3 now -

Thanks and greetings,
Catfish

Default 16 k

Im guessing the OLC UBERMOD 2.1.3 part one uses its own shifting visual distance out to 16k?

in other words theres no need to use the GWX 16k atmosphere?

am i reading the readme txts right in thinking this?

cheers

just a quick question... if I dont want to use the doublemast tool.... I can just calculate the doubled mast values in my head right?

Oh and I read in the First Post that this mod works okay with the res fix... but only if you "dont increase the resolution too much"
I run it at 1680x1050, is this OK or already "too much" ?

I know there were already some posts about this issue but I simly can't find them in this immense thread...
I installed recently OLCE2 and OLC GUI Special anb played a bit. I managed somehow to hit a "Mittelgrosser Dampfer" - medium tramp steamer? sorry, I'm playing in German for immersion but I found I was still to much of a beginner so I tried to downgrade to the last OLC GUI/ Dark files, and I messed up a bit enabling and isabling things plenty of time. As a result, when I resumed my patrol and met another medium tramp my AOB ring fell out of scale... I had the OLC GUI Reference Chart opened on my desk. I verified that masts were doubled (it gave about 42 metres) and there was a scratchmark for estimations at lower magnification so the dials should be the good ones. By the way, the tube numbers disappeared from the selection knob.

Should I simply disable all mods and re-enable them i right order, or am I simply doing some stupid error when using the whiz wheel?

hello to everybody !!

it'amazing the work you are doing all modders but especially olc, i have to tell you that you changed the sh3 !! (you and the modders of u-jard)

anyway (enough with greetings) and now my broblem:

i have read the threads (but i am a little confused) so i have to ask 'is there a way to have back the salvo torpedoes numbers?'

(i do not use sh3 commander,i am wondering if it is possible ...)
thank you

Hi there,

5 minutes ago, I wanted to do some course-calculations on the map and realized that the visual aid for the protractor tool is gone... (that compass thingy ) Well... I did notice that extra compass-tool on the lower edge of the map, which can be dragged and is obviously kind of a replacement for the missing protractor aid... Well...unfortunately the new tool is completely useless, at least to me...'cause when I draw a line and want to end it right on the spot where I placed that aid...and click...then everything is gone... Does anyone know what the heck I'm talking about?

Well...it's a really compelling mod...but that "feature" kind of annoys me... I can't calculate any intercept courses that way...

Best regards..

Funny, I just made myself a JSGME mini-mod to fix this very issue today. Don't know if it works yet. Haven't tested it. Will report on my luck and provide the solution/download.

As for your troubles with the free protractor. Yes, those tools do not work if some sliding opject is in the way. But you can place line/protractors roughly and with long enough legs, then position the free protractor on the desired point and then re-orient the legs of the line/protractor in the propper direction. But it is cumber some, I know.
