Dear UBI Soft

Last night my sub was sunk by two bombers because my air search radar doesn't work. Give me a working radar now, or I will send you angry letters.

Sincerely, Ltd. Com. Edgar Kain of the USS Drum

Neal, I hope you don't mind if I ask this. Were you one of the beta testers for SH4 and at what level? And seeing your site is one of the foremost sub sim sites for SH3 and 4, hopefully Ubi will listen to your input and request. Unless they don't take feedback from beta testers. In whch case me thinks all hope is lost, as it looks like they aren't listening to the public that bought it. And too, hopefully I'm wrong on that count.

As I've said it's in Ubi's best interest to patch SH4 to a finished state to insure their own credibility with the gaming public. [SHIII should have been finished too, as we all know. ] Tho I'm afraid that more than one patch will be needed to do the complete fix. And 1.3 will not be enough only because of the size of the download, seeing it will also include the pervious patches.

Hello UbiSoft;

I currently own three UbiSoft games. While I currently derive some enjoyment from Silent Hunter 4, I have also some frustration. There are numerous posts in this forum that address the issues involved, so I will not go into them here. I simply ask that the aformentioned issues are addressed in a timely manner. If there are problems dealing with these issues, as there may be with programming of this magnitude, then please inform your customers of your progress. In this case, no news is bad news. Thank you UbiSoft for bringing this simulation to us. Please follow through to make it all it can be!

Respectfully,

Robert Chamberlain

I've always thought of myself as a faithful fan of subsims. I bought Silent Hunter II, III and IV. I don't play a lot of other games; only one other currently. So I think I am somewhat dedicated to this form of entertainment. I understand the practice of rushing games such as Silent Hunter IV to the market, as there is pressure on the developer from the gaming community for the product as well as pressure from the publishers to get the product to store shelves on time. I accept that as "business as usual." There was even a much needed patch out before I had the game in my computer. That demonstrates how rushed the game was but I'm "OK" with that also, it happens.
What I will not accept is the developers and publishers giving up on their commitment to providing their customers with product satisfaction. You have sold us a product for entertainment. That is the business Ubisoft is in. If the product is basically bad and unentertaining, much like a bad movie, there is nothing more to do but learn and change. Silent Hunter IV is not like a bad movie. It's a great movie, but it's ending was left out. So if you could, wouldn't you go back and replace or re-edit the ending of the movie to make it complete and make it a fantastic movie? That is not just your job or your obligation. It's more than honoring a commitment to your customers to provide us entertainment. "Finishing the movie" is an idealism, a striving for a goal of excellence; it's a promise you made to yourselves, at some point. You can do that with just a patch! And have a lot more satisfied customers.
However if you give up your ideals, not to mention your obligations, you should just get out of the business. At the least you won't have mine anymore.
Thanks for the future patch which I am faithfully sure will follow soon.

When it is more challenging to play Silent Hunter 3 then the new release I'd say a patch is badly needed. Thanks Neil for the update on this issue -- I thought I had lost my touch and all this time the game has been flawed. Come on UbiSoft, help us loyal Silent Hunter players out. Skipjack

Default Silent Hunter Patch v1.3 Needed Now

Congratulations to Ubisoft on a fine submarine simulation must be withheld until at least the minimum standards of project completion have been met. Finish the job correctly, and regain your following.

Default Yeah and REAL WS support

I love this series--except for the glaring fact that the Widescreen resolutions don't support the basic HD settings of 720p or 1080i--and the glaring craptastic bugs that you previously mentioned Neal. I've pretty much given up on this developer team and Ubisoft. Unless they patch all of the above, they won't get any more money from me.

Haven't posted on the forums in some time..I've been thwarted from playing SHIV from numerous sub-sim fans/friends who were let down, and feel that there is indefinitely...No hope.

I do not know what to say except for...SHIII still gives a great deal of gameplay value imo.

----------

What is UBI and the devs saying? Does anyone know for sure? (Regards to the patching)

Default I want the patch no. 3 ASAP !

Ahoy
For many years since the time of SH1 I have been a supporter of UBI's subsims.
SH2 was not ok and SH3 needed some time to mature but they were supported by UBI.com and from a great community of modders.
The community gave all the hinds a company can wish to get and all is supported by Neal whom I really thank for his great work.

For the first time in years I stopped playing UBI's subsim and will not go on as long as UBI is ignoring quality.
I am not interested in the money I payed for it but in the fun I could have if SH4 was patched a little bit more than it is.

This product is not complete and needs more patching by the developers.

Don't wait longer. Just do it.

Default New Patch 1.3

Is a pity the SH4 ends its life as soon as it born…
The actual status of the simulator is unplayable because the bugs unresolved.
Patch 1.3 is must; otherwise the SH4 will lie in the bottom sea for ever.
Please do not leave the simulator at today level !!!

I am in favor of developing patch 1.3 to at least correct the most glaring and serious issues of this otherwise outstanding game.
