Perhaps, but beyond the slogan, who and what gets defined as a swamp? I would argue Trump just dragged his personal leech lines into the bog knowing they were on top and would sink into the mire slower.

Trump says lot's of things all the time like a drunk on a barstool.

The people includes all those who voted anti-trumpwise. I'm claiming anti-trumpwise officially here and now.

Paranoid psychotism and hurt narcissism in action. Trump may become irrelevant in person, but he can still be turned into a figurehead of a Trumpist movement that will outlive him. Too many people have invested their faith and energy into believing him - awakening to the bitter truth that they made monkeys of themselvers will be too much for many as if they can stand it. So they will chose to live on with lies and self-deceptions, they will make themselves believing, to avoiud needing to admit their guilt. This way, reality surrogates get created.


If you look at the psychology of sects and doomsday cults, as well as populations of states who ended up in troubles and wars they had brought over the world themselves, you see that this is an old pattern , its is nothing new at all from a social-psychological perspective. Trump is just one factor in it, and a factor with a biological termination date. But the cult'S founding myth depends much more on the inner self-dynamic of this - lets call it that - mythological founding myth. And that founding is what Trump and Trumpists currently work on all day long with their endless repetition of lies and unfounded claims. And they are already so strong that even those Republicans in the party who do not like Trump, have fallen silent and refuse to confront him, fearing for their own stand in the party, and their angry voter base. Trump has taken the party hostage.

When are you ever going to learn that we are not Germans, we are Americans. There are no fuhrers in our future, no fancy uniforms or swastikas. There has never been a president, including George Washington that the entire nation would just shut up for and blindly follow. We are far too diverse and far too big and much to fractious to follow a leader as slavishly as you like to fantasize.

Germans pretend that the nazis were some new and evil force who sneakily seized power amidst the chaos of a lost war, but in reality your people just traded one Kaiser for another more modern version with bureaucratic titles replacing the the ones of the old nobility in the preceding Reich. That's why the nazis were successful at taking over your country. No Weimar Republic with it's scary and untidy concepts of representative government was going to appeal to a nation of former subjects. You needed the another imperial master to pick up your leashes and that's exactly what happened.

But that's not going to happen here. Other bad things might happen to us but not that. So spare us the lectures. I've been reading this forum for 15 years and in the hundreds, perhaps thousands of anti-American political rants you have made over that time you haven't been right about us yet and you still aren't.

The irony is unbearable

The latest move by the president that could get him sent to jail!

"You should want to have an accurate election. And you're a Republican," Trump said at one point.
"We believe that we do have an accurate election," Raffensperger said in response, to which Trump replied, "No, no you don't. ... Not even close. You're off by hundreds of thousands of votes."

The audio recording was reported by the Post several hours after Trump said on Twitter that he had spoken to Raffensperger on the phone in an attempt to convince him to look into unfounded conspiracy theories about the vote in November. According to Trump, Raffensperger refused to do so. In response, Raffensperger cryptically delivered a strong message to the President on Sunday.
"Respectfully, President Trump: What you're saying is not true. The truth will come out," the tweet read.
Raffensperger, a Republican and a Trump supporter, has consistently turned back Trump's claims of voter fraud in Georgia. He has overseen three different recounts of the vote and conducted several other reviews of the process. He recently tasked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with conducting an audit of the signature match system in Cobb County that determined the system was 99.9% accurate and revealed no evidence of fraud.
White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, lawyer Cleta Mitchell and other Republican allies of the President were also on the call.
The call represents the latest extraordinary effort by Trump to change the results of the race he lost following weeks of legal and political efforts by the President, his legal team and Republican allies to overturn the free and fair election.
The ask comes just days before Congress will meet to certify Biden's victory, a traditionally ceremonial exercise on Capitol Hill that will look dramatically different this year as Republicans in both chambers plan to object to the counting of Electoral College votes.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer seized on the call in a tweet Sunday afternoon, suggesting to Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas that he and his GOP allies should investigate the President for his actions.

They’re being loyal to the constitution.

Ted Cruz and all those other guys are trying to make sure this election was fair by responding to their constituents who want them to take every road possible. .

The people have raised their suspicions and their questions and they’re not satisfied even now and made their representatives aware.

That’s not the representatives fault!

The reps are doing their job because Even though the Democrats keep saying nothing happened, people are still pissed off and saying the election was rigged!

That’s the representatives doing a great job in my book.
