Watch it bub, yer provin' my point. This Tolkien dude was out lookin fer nazis in WWI!!!! They weren't even invented yet. That's being a bit too visionary for my taste. Hope he took his mommy with him to tuck him at night.

Back to work Beery! Playtimes over. I'm runnin' out of air down here and those destroyer captains ain't readin' Tolkien. All unnecessary hands to your bunks! The smokin' light is out! Beery ain't on the job yet. Lie low fer a bit. All stop. Dang it! If there was a Jap version of Tolkien, maybe these destroyer captains would be pansies like him and leave us alone! Come on Beery, we're dyin' out here! I'm hangin' out in the conning tower and the periscope animations ain't workin. How can I kill Nips if the periscope animations ain't workin'? This is a debacle down here!

Hey folks, I hope nobody is taking me seriously here. This is a heavy sarcasm zone in good humor, or humour for you across the pond. :rotfl:

...Errr... Well. I can sympathize with you, Beery. My computer time is spent between LOTR:O and Silent Hunter 4 as well. =)

...except today I'm screwed because I'm reading the last Harry Potter novel.

Damn it Beery! Where the hell is our updated mod? You know, i've just about had it waiting patiently for this free mod to come my way. Pffff Talk about lack of service, i'm sorely tempted to play it... vanilla. There I said it, I hope you're happy because i'm not.

Thanks for all the work so far Beery, hope we see a 1.29 soon.

Cheers mate.

Dear Beery,
You are hereby ordered by the Valar to stop all offensive / adventuring operations in the Arnor Sector, Middle Earth and are hereby placed on detached MOD duty. It has come to our attention that agents of Sauron have infiltrated the Earth Japanese Gov't and without your assistance they will defeat the free powers of Earth. We believe their aim is to cause a cross Middle Earth / Earth rift with the aim of breaking the chains of the great abyss and release Melkor the Morgoth. It is believed that your MOD is the only hope of success for naval forces opposing the Japanese and thus you are hereby ordered to immediately report to Fleet HQ, Pacific Fleet, Earth to complete the RFB 1.3 MOD. May the Light of the Twin Trees guide you and Elbereth protect you,

signed,

Berry, if you have any questions about filechanges from patch 1.2 to 1.3, or file compatiblities, don't hesitate to ask (send a PM ). Developments in SH4 have been pretty rapid the last week or two.

I want RFB up and running just like everyone else, otherwise im afraid of ppl banging on my door with a list of demands that i can't (or won't) meet.

One more day of no RFB and I think we should all vote that Ducimus must take over the duties or else he is kicked out of the council. Ducimus must then have it finished no later than 1.5 days after the voting proceedings.

Those who agree say I.

Default Ducimus take over RFB?

No way!!!!! Just like SH3, SH4 is healthier and the mods are better when different people are working on their own version of the same thing. It gets competition going between Trigger Maru and RFB, and also, as you can see, cooperation between the two authors, not to eliminate each other but to make BOTH mods the best they can be. This is the nature of healthy free enterprise: competing in the marketplace of ideas in a healthy way that maximizes all mods.

It's just like what happened when some loser Coke employees stole the secret formula and offered it to Pepsi. Now Pepsi's number two, but what did they do? They said, "We believe in our product and we don't play that way." One phone call from Pepsi to the FBI and the lowlifes were in jail.

The same coopetition thing is happening between WernerSobe's Realistic Sinking Physics and leovampire's Die Slowly mods. The result is that both mods will rock! (they already do) There will be no losers, only people who do not use one of the two mods.

Offering help is not taking over. Even the incredible GWX team at SH3 is offering help to the Atlantic Sharks crew. They got a bit touchy when someone who shall remain nameless suggested a takeover attempt was taking place.

Subsim mod boards: capitalism in microcosm. You gotta love it! Chaos is beautiful when it works.

>>Ducimus take over RFB?

That was never my insinuation, nor the intent of my last post. Camaero was being sarchastic i think.

It is not, nor ever will be my intention to compete with Berry. No mod wars here, thank you very much! I respect his work, and it's reason to exist. I was only offering help with file differences between 1.2 and 1.3. A hypothetical question might be "heyman, has such and such file changed? what exactly was the change, do you know?" If i knew id tell him If it would help speed him along. Thats all i was offering.

Now i did insinuate was that if berry wasn't here, i might start worring about people asking me to make changes in Tmaru that i don't want to (or won't) make. So i really like berry being here, and i really want RFB updated

I was just kidding of course! Just hoping to spark Beery a little motivation.
