Tak - Ah, I see. Was missing some context there, np. 'Tis the forums after all... all work and no play and all of that (hope that sounds right?)

tater, sometimes we have stuffing baked thinly on a tray, so it goes just a little bit crispy on top, kind of like a savoury flapjack. Typical 'stuffing of the bird' has a layer of ground sausage meat pressed into the chest/neck area of the turkey, followed by the aforementioned stuffing mix.
You gotta do your roasties in goose fat though, makes 'em all lovely and crispy delicious mmmmm

I don't often have room for christmas pudding; sometimes it's just way too rich following loading yourself to the gunnel's with roast dinner

I like duck, trouble is, you always need at least a pair for a decent cook up.

I am, but people eating meat or talking about eating meat doesn't bother me. I joined in on the conversation, even prior to the ugliness. Chat away, it's fine with me.

Or both. A Christian in a burka in some turkey. That would be a turburkian, for short.

It's great that there are good people on this forum that can tell a moderator when he is flirting with the line. This is not the first time that you've pulled me back in when I've gotten carried away. Thank you!

My mother in law made that a couple times. The trouble is that the duck needs to be cooked so the skin crisps up and you render out all that lovely fat to cook other stuff with.

It was good, but not as good as just the duck, IMHO. Goose works, too, because it has that wild "gotta keep warm!" fat like the duck.

Damn, I'm hungry now.

Assuming you cook, you should start a veggie food thread. We have a few vegetarian friends, and aside from Indian, I have trouble coming up with interesting stuff to feed them that doesn't suck.

Vegan stuff I'm not willing to even bother with, lol. Indian food is good 'cause it's cooked in GHEE.

Speaking of vegetarians, I did a test at (I think) Oatmeal on what I'd taste to a cannibal. The result was "Roasted tofu". Guess I'll be safe when cannibals take over the world.

Good idea; I think I might do that. I stopped eating meat for health reasons, but the excitement of doing good things for your body is quickly tempered by the realization that much of the vegetarian cuisine does in fact suck. I loved the way my body and mind felt and worked, but eating became a chore until I found a few cook books that really changed things up for me. I've got a few recipies that are really fantastic, if I can put my hand to them. I can't remember cooking recipies for squat.

I am with you on the vegan stuff. I'd be lost without milk and cheese.
