the less you interact with them, they will view you as a crusty turd who doesnt care about his crew
That's me, do ya job boys or if off to the front with ya!!

Take a small look to that small Shimano Gearlever from an Mountainbike left down in the Periscopeinterface, this should be the telegraphe.......
An Modder was shooted when he released a same lookin mod for an telegraph.

Only stupid noobs could produce that s h i t !

And the engineroom is also not the best !
This here is an good lookin engineroom made by some modders !

I wish that people like Meddox will produce an Subsim.
He is an garant for 100% perfect work.

Ok this is what i hope for in SH5 . For 100% realism the hud turns off and its just you the sub and your men . Giving orders via dialogue boxes to the crew . This is 100% realism . Looks like this is what SH5 can become . cheers .

after watching that clip i think it looks fantasic.

in an early preview it was stated that the ui can be stripped back for realism and the periscope view, i'd imagine will relocate and scale up to fit the screen, surely, once the controls are removed for realism. it relatively easy to have multiple layout configs after all and the black surround is just a image rendered on top of the 3d view to clip it.

my advice would be to give them a chance to finish it.

theres alot here to love. the fps looks fantastic, the ui slick and very clean, which again looks really really nice, for me personally.

cheers
Tony

It just looks small because of the 16:10 aspect... it's actually bigger

I am sure that the 3d interface will be interactive. Otherwise what is the point of the thin glint line over the periscope, your men and equipment. And i am sure that it can be turned off. So you wont get any health bars, thing selection glints and help text.

What makes me worry is that i did feel no life on sub. In trailer we saw people sleeping, playing cards, reading paper. But in gameplay video most of the guys were just being still. Just like SH4. Everyone has their own position with couple of different animation slapped on. And also where is the rumble and running when there was a crash dive. I saw it on trailer but i did not see anything in gameplay video.

We can edit the GUI stuff for better. But we cannot edit the interactive stuff. If our subs will be boring tomb stones then there is no point on walking around.

a lot of comments for something that looks that it is in a very early stage.
about the interior : i think that a lot of 'noise' for something that must come last on importance list for a simulator .priority is the gameplay
btw, i don't like it at all....it looks as a basement of a facility but not as a sub's interior . for the engineroom ...no discuss...Tomi_099 wins before the race starts! also i like better DD's command room but....with less less salamis!
about the interface: the priority of interface is ,imo, the ergonomic and then the 'look' of it. nobody have use this interface so i think that its not fair to judge it as so bad ....becuase you don't know....maybe it proved to be very evolutionary.i ,myself, prefer the rounded dials with needles...etc but with this map in the peri page ...there is a big problem of space for all the rest . i wish to be tottaly modable and then all will be sorted ....
about the marks at peri : it is obvious that is not finished ...not even work at it have start.the '10's and zoom indicator are displaced and there is this avatar (!) in the peri view !!

one thing is really worring me : i don't see the 'mark' button at peri.....i will not stand it missing this feature....

I think this cannot be a Xbox version. Because when you read the help description section then you can read these lines like "Left click to crash dive" and Crash Dive (C) Good for quick escapes. You can read this on video at 13.29

in the german ubi forum, an ubi community manager stressed, they played the game at the lowest realism setting and the interface would have another look at higher realism settings.

have a look at 11:30: The player ordered a "Probealarm" (crash dive). In the upper right corner, we can see a small clock counting the time the crew needs to submerge the boat. i think here you will have a "training effect" when your crew earns more experience. nice feature (if understood correctly by me)

and a question: what does these numbers on the torpedo line mean? any suggestions?

There's a statement in the german SH5- Forum, I'll try to translate (but please don't expect perfect english )

Quote:

We see that there is a lot of critic to the last SH5-Footage in Ubi-Tv (1/10). We will give you some important points:

1. Carsten is a casual gamer and not a U-Boat captain. He played the actual Version in the lowest difficult setting to gt some material for the Ubi-TV Video. Because Ubi-TV comes out monthly it is a very hard work because SH5 is not the only title to be displayed there.

2. We try to show you as much material as possible. But this also means that there is a lot of material made for a big group of players which don't has room for details. But we noticed you critics and are working on Content which will calm you down and will please you.

3. SH5 can be played in different dificcult settings. These settings have an influence on Interface, display, accessibilitiy and difficult level. Therefore, we ask you not to judge too early.

At this point, we wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year
