@ Tater, well mixed feelings there, Part of me now thinks that she would have been better off put down way back, but you just don't know, will be chewing nails now for the next week or so, as you point out it would be cruel for all concerned if she couldn't use the litter box on her own, I keep my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!

I hear ya, reece, I'm right there with ya, actually.
At this point, however, it's better to have spent a assload of money for a live pet, vs spending, then having to spend to put her down, lol. In for a penny, in for a pound, as they say. |

She now has, I kid you not, a vet who is a physical therapist.
She's got an electro-stimulator to work her muscles on the rear legs. Course if she does get better, then what? She and the dog don't get along which wasn't a problem when she was outside only. Inside... she will very quickly figure out the doggy door the second there is cat-dog détente, at which point she's at grave risk again, particularly if she's functional, but gimpy. |

I was afraid to ask after her from the long silence, and I'm happy for her recovery. You may try working through your local SPCA for someone to adopt her if the tough choice must be made. This kind of story is purrfect for their newsletter/magazine. You could also get somewhere with the press as a human interest story as I'm positive there would be some big heart out there to help.
