I've seen AvP and enjoyed that for the claustrophobic atmosphere and action, but not seen the other 2, nor have I seen Prometheus (yet, give it another 2 years and I might get round to it.)

True words, I concur.
AVP2 is easily one of the worst movie ever created for so many reasons. The lighting, the editing, the characters, the "story", the acting, the script/dialogs...

Just spent the last five days watching the original Planet of the Apes films. Still think the first two were the best and the others not bad.

I always put the first one in the category "Movies that need no sequels". Though it varied from the book quite a bit I thought that it, like The Terminator, was perfect the way it was. Trying to milk more money out of it just ruined the concept.

I agree with Steve, can also put Rocky in that same category.
First Rocky was good, watched 20 minutes of Two and no more.

Watching the documentary on the series Steve, they said the apes were much more advance in the book but they did not have the budget for it and that's why they opted for a primitive look. And from that point on the budget was reduced for each film, even in the second one you could see the extra's had dodgy looking ape masks.

Behinds the scenes was funny while they were not filming, lots of apes smoking!

I agree Hollywood likes milking a good successful film with a follow up or ups.

I saw the first of the new ones on TV (Name slips me) and I just found it a right royal bore.

CH was going down with flu at the time of shooting that scene which made his voice so cool.

"Do you have the movie where Liam Neeson's daughter is kidnapped?"

Taken

"How about the sequel?"

That's Taken 2

"Oh well"

Plot Summary

Quote:
Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose long awaited reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered. Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his "particular set of skills," to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now - his daughter.
- Written by 20th Century Fox
No surprises there then
