Now we return Lurkers thread back to RSRD
Thank you for your help Warhawk.

Awesome work Lurker! The thread is yours again!

I keep getting flash traffic that mentions "..IJN units proceeding down the SLOT at high speed."

Wtf is "SLOT?"

ANd when the traffic mentions that convoys are enroute to point A from home waters, does it mean our home waters, or theirs?

Thanks.

The slot is the nickname given in WWII to the waters running through the Solomons, northwest to southeast (and vice-versa, of course). It is actually New Georgia Sound:

New Georgia Sound aka Steel Bottom Sound after the IJN Battleship force smashed through the light task force that was left to guard the landing and supply ships of the Guadacanal invasion after USS Enterprise moved out to sea.

Default not steel bottom

I think the right term is Iron Bottom Sound.

The slot was here.

In August 1942 (1st Battle) it was actually a force of cruisers that smashed our own force of cruisers. A pretty good synopsis of the action around Savo Sound (Iron Bottom Sound) can be found in the book "Luck of the Draw" by Captain Kenneth Ruiz, USN who was serving abourd the Vincennes at the time and ended up in the drink along with so many others.

Lurker, could you look into something please? For the first time (yes, I work hard to make my rig VERY stable so the CTD is rare) I have gotten persistent CTDs with RSRD. Its Oct 31st, 1942 at 02:56. As you can see in the screen shot, as soon as my sub passes the second waypoint I get a CTD.

Thoughts? Here is my mod order:

REL_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_152
RSRDC_TMOv15_V371
RSRDC_V371_Patch8
RSRDC_eyecandy_fix
#1 PE3 Install
#2d PE3 Special Effects For TMO
#3b PE3 submarine bubbles and caustics and roll pitch for TM
#4 PE3 Ship_debris_SH4_with bodies
#5 PE3 real reflections for harbour and objects
#6 PE3 patch for TM
PE3 Install less floater

Thanks for the mod and I hope that this will be an easy fix.

I guess they should have made SH4 an open boat where we run around inside and shoot each other a 1000 times. They seem to handle those games with numerous patches. --Longam UBI SHIV Forums

Currently unable to recreate your problem. Test was conducted without the PE mods

Thanks for checking mate. I'm gonna do some trial and error testing and then I'll bother Kriller. Can you give me any hints as to where to look for trouble?
