I wonder if the merchant ships have a variety of colors and not simply being all gray.

Seems fair to say that some would be light gray, black, red or maybe also white.

if they are spotted then they are going to be sunk so why would you think that they would ever use bright colors that attract attention?

they only did this in peace time

Very well. I found btw a thread discussing this color issue of mine:http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=152218

Perhaps it would be a nice feature to have ship colors turn gradually from default merchant ship color in 1939 to a standard gray'ish pallette in 1943?

Even in 1944 I would imagine that a significant number of merchant ships still had their peacetime colors.

No point painting over your yellow chimney and light-grey hull if you have a smoke plume almost a mile high.
Especially if your not even doing the main Atlantic run.

good point, so any pre-war built ships might just still have bright colors

Just to clear it for the JU 88
It is a JU 88B0, they were the Prototypes for the later Ju 188.
It had the Cockpit from the Ju 188 and the Airframe from the Pre Production Ju 88A4.
Just 10 have been built.

Default New Ships?

Is there any word on ships which are actually included in the game, but which did not appear in the screenshots posted earlier in this thread? I'm especially interested to hear about some smaller tankers and freighters, and some coastal vessels, if there are any present. I would also like to see screenshots of the UK Fiji Class CL, and US Wasp Class CL, if they are included.

Any screenshots of ships, NOT previously revealed in this thread (and its links), would be appreciated.

I actually like the substitutes for the american planes. That Catalina looks like a possible design. It almost looks like a Walrus (the critter).

But the whole legal crap is just annoying. I also find if funny that the same country that has the medical insurance scam we have is the same that has such nonsense that has companies by the image from defunct aircraft companies and demand liscense fees.

Greedy mother.....
