I swear I wasn't looking for Guppy at all, but still I came across these two links:

Felt obliged to report in!

if you look closely, you can see the AA gun on the tower deck and, you can also see the gyro compass housing on the front of the tower.

now that the sub model is done, I will update the tower lightmaps and probably in the next week I will have a GUPPY for you all to play with

@Keltos, that would be the navy's biggest headache...literally...the MIGRAINE radar picket conversion.

@AVG
if you have any more pictures of the sail I'd love to see them, I need as many references to sculpt a proper Portsmouth sail style.
(frankly they are my favorite)

That picture is my only personal of the sail. Your best bet for now is the Torsk website.

sweet !

I had a thought...

could we make a bumped in damage model instead of showing the interior of the sub ? look at the tower, you see that the outer hull is sometimes sucked inwards due to pressure/DCs

I think that would be most realistic after a DC attack

well, I was thinking about that too but I see one problem, the damage model shows up only when you take a shell hit and basically all it is are the guts of the sub, and that fits inside the existing hull.

I would think it's something worth trying but I don't know how to make a bumped and beaten damage model

that I can do easily but we'd need it to show up after a DC attack

So I know this project has already been dug up from the depths once, but I'm curious where it stands now? I was working on a GUPPY mod myself, but somewhere between my lack of time, lack of real 3D modeling skills, and a full wipe / reinstall of my computer, I let it fall by the wayside. What you've already got is impressive, so I really hope that a finished product is coming soon?

Thanks

I haven't been playing a lot of Silent Hunter lately, But the mod is practically done, I just wanted to add in all the rest of the towers and all that.

I hate to sound too pushy, but since its already almost done, it would be great to get over that last hump and get it released. This, along with the modern sub mod thats in the works, are probably two of my most desired mods, and both of them will lead very nicely into my other most desired mod, which is the cold war mod thats been kicked around forever. To get access to any one of them would be a great thing in my book.

That all being said, its your baby, so if you don't have the time to finish it, or don't want to release it yet, we all understand... that doesn't mean we don't want it though...

I'm glad to see there is still viable interest in this mod.

this weekend looks like it's going to be spent mostly at home so I'll do what I can to upload the last little bit
