Knock up a quick mission (late war) and script her in.

Very proud of this - patrolling off of South Africa, March 1943 - nothing but atrocious weather. My radar and sonar men are working overtime. And after only picking off one small merchant in the high seas, decided to use the weather to my advantage.

Snuck into Capetown - and very happy to find a C2 and this tanker. Point blank shots are lovely things when you're unseen.

Default U-53 "10 of Clubs"

September 1939. U-53 "10 of Clubs" is leaving port. War with Britain had been declared 4 days ago and the U-boat is assigned to patrol BF 16. Not a bad patrol Grid. Still early in the war, so the Kaleun will dare cross the Channel

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Weather is OK, patrols on the Channel are not yet thick enough and U-53 reaches BF 16. Tower Watch spots a British Coastal Freighter. Weather does not permit the use of the deck gun, but an old, trustworthy TI torpedo does the trick

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

After 2 uneventful days, sonarman detects a Merchant coming our way. We position our boat for a night surface attack. Its a British Large Merchant. Oh, i love these Happy Times

1 eel from the aft and some rounds of the 88' prove more than enough

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

BF16 yields nothing more, so we decide to patrol BF 13. And on the 4th day tower watch spots a British Medium Tanker. Weather is Brilliant. Two TI eels and some 15 88' shots from the deck gun. Pretty Stubborn

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

But she, also goes down

U-53 "10 of Clubs" is still at sea. Hopefully there will be some more screenshots of its patrol worth posting

Medium Cargo goes down after 2 torpedoes

And a whale factory ship on BF12 was a nice surprise

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The first combat patrol of U-53 "10 of Spades" ends with ca 35k tons in 2 weeks- a bit too much for realism but still...

Don't you love early war, unescorted convoys, far from air support? I think the deck gun might need relining.

(Last target is neutral)
