Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately , it didn't solve the problem. The most curious thing is that one - the old one - career is running smoothly in Cmdr and the other - the new one - refuses to do the same. I even deleted the whole 1942 career and started a new one but no result. Anyway , Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year. |

Coming back with more data on my issue
I can not make any career starting in 1942 to update in SH3Commander. I get the "Invalid argument in date encode" message and it cannot be corrected manually. Using GWX3 + H.sie hardcore addons Any help is appreciated Merry Christmas. |

I am completely lost here.
What do I have to do to run properly two careeres at the same time in SH3 Commander? The first updates fine. The second will not update under any circumstances. I always get the "invalid to date encode" message no matter what I do! Thank you. |

I use MultiSH3 and a separate installation of Commander for each career.

![]() From the SH3C User Guide: Quote:
The only time I've ever used MultiSH3 is when I was running two or more supermods at the same time, such as GWX, NYGM and LSH3. Other than that you shouldn't need it for separate careers. I typically run three or four careers at the same time, all without problem.

Anyway , multish3 worked fine and problem sovled. In fact I should have done that a long time ago. Up to now I had vanilla SH3 and SH3+GWX plus numerous mod in a soup. Now there are three installations on my PC and I have a "working place" to test new mods without ruining my game |

I keep getting the following error popping up when SH3 pops up after loading it through SHCommander, but I'm not running SH3 before loading it up with Commander, as seen here:
![]() Any ideas? The cool bits of the Commander program don't work if it brings up that error ![]() ![]() |

Try deleting your current career and start a completely new one.
Check manually that all files have been deleted. If that fails check the path Commander uses to launch SH3. (long shot but maybe) Last resort : Uninstall Commander and reinstall after a registry clean. Good luck. Just hit me : How many times did you clicked on the Commander icon? More than one double click can cause this. |

I do have GWX3.0 installed, would that make a difference? Should I try completely reinstalling the game? |

I too have joined this club.
![]() Brand New PC Win8.1 Anyone found out what the hell is causing this? In the mean time I'm going to uninstall everything and start from scratch. Install stock and test run it, and if all works well next step GWX and so on until the dreaded notice. Just trying to nail it down a bit.

I am obliged to say, Thank you KptLt. JScones, for SH3 Commander, and for JGSME.
Long story short, I have repeated all of the user mistakes mentioned in this thread, and a few others, and can confirm that the solutions provided here all worked, and were covered in the documentation also; which I read thoroughly several times in the course of botching things up over and over, through no fault of anybody's but my own. But everything's ship shape now, and I am winning the Battle of the Atlantic, at 13% realism lol (until I can steer the boat and chew gum at the same time). It would hardly be possible without 'Commander and JGSME. Years ago in this thread JScones asked for suggestions for the (eternal?) next rev. I might have one that isn't impossible: So, one excruciating "feature" in SH3 is its ability to delete huge lumps of careers, if you're ever fool enough to actually load or delete an old saved game yourself. It makes me wonder what I *am* supposed to do with them. I am frankly more afraid of the saved game screen than of enemy sonar - I've lost far more Kapitans to this screen than to depth charges. Anyway, if SH3C took the saved game files and managed them in a sober and responsible way and only let SH3 use them under appropriate supervision, well, that would just be great. I made a copy of my entire /Documents/SH3 folder, and I suppose I could do that after every save... Or maybe time travel spoils the realism? Well, I hadn't intended to make this a feature request! So NVM that, just thanks for the awesome tools! |
