Looks great! Is that "Filter" paint that gives it the kind of mottled, weathered look?

Thanks Sailor Steve.
![]() Quote:
It gives the nice blend for the otherwise boring paint job. Theres few different "shades" of the filter, and depends what you need it for- you can use either tan, grey, brown, or blue. I used the grey in initial fading of the black paint, imitating the salt an sun effect. Tan, and brown followed to give the worn, dirty look. Oils and pigments should finish the job nicely. |

Rigging.
This is the part of the project, where scratch building will be required. Revells parts are completely unuseable: ![]() ![]() Real life picture: ![]() I discarded the revells parts altogether, and designed the "mother" isolator from 2 separate oval brass discs, and after sloting each of them half way through the middle, soldered them together. ![]() ![]() My friend from Poland promissed to make 30 of them from resin, using the "mother" to make mould. ![]() Last edited by Siara; 04-05-09 at 08:52 AM. |

Siara, are you using a microscope to build those tiny parts? And how do you handle them?
