Default TREES

I absolutely love trees. This one is very near where I live. They're like people: most you don't really notice, but every now and then you come across one which really stands out.

I'm always looking at trees. I use them in my work but I find them restful to the soul anyway; they're never in a hurry to be somewhere else, unlike us.

I'd really like to see photos of any remarkable trees or groups of trees you've come across, especially if they're near where you live.

I know a couple of them. Some are a little too ''interestingly shaped'' to be allowed here.

Here's a cherry tree I planted last autumn

Oaks are beautiful, it's mainly pine trees up here but there's the odd oak here and there.

Here's a couple of random pic I took last month:

I should add this chestnut tree

It has it's own water spring

I also declared it a pagan holly site and want to be buried under it

I bet it's standing right next to it.
Note to myself: remember not to eat the low hanging chestnuts in Slovenia.

the tree is hollow and collects rainwater which then slowly runs out a small hole in the trunk.

When? Is this weekend good for you?

Yes, trees! Trees are one of the most important criteria for my search for a piece of land. Nice oaks, pecan are my favorites. If there are no nice trees, I don't want to live there.

We have pecan trees in our backyard each around 65 feet in height. They have a deep tap root that helps them withstand the strongest winds. Come fall they produce pecans that taste like Grade A Canadian Maple syrup, it is a real treat.

But a word of advice. Make sure the pecan trees are not too close to your house as they attract tree rats and other rodents which if left to their own can really tear up a home's structure and make a mess of things.
