As for your question, yes, I use that kind of language around my mother. As does pretty everyone around here. But I guess that's another difference between the US and the Netherlands, we tend to look much more casually towards the use of words like those.
But well, this is a mainly American forum, so I guess I can see your point.

But don't you think there's a difference between using those words in a joking, casual manner, and using them seriously? I have never made any post in which I said a similar word in a serious manner. I always thought this rule was mainly to keep 12-year-old "u n00bs sux" kids away, not to ban the word completely.

Also, in this "casual" use it seems to be somewhat accepted around the forums. I quite often see it used here, and a google search shows 1730 results for the f-word alone.

Very true, but Neal put the rule there...

Please use language that you would use around your mother. No vulgarities, obscenities, hate speech, or foul language. Do not use *******ing w*rds with aster*cks, that's the same thing as vulgar languge. Express yourself with respect to others.

...and the way I see it, if you choose to ignore it you're basically saying you don't care or have any respect for what he thinks or why.
