Answer about "S-622" - it's former german submarine "U-5107". "U-5107" was scuttle in Dunkerqe 29.04.1945. Raised, repair and complete for french navy as "S-622".

If it is a french guppy does that mean they removed the torpedoes...

a blueprints-correct GUPPYII/Fleet Snorkel tower. before you say the hatch is on the wrong side, when it imports into S3D and everythings inverted in that way, everything on the left is now on the right, so on. GUPPY III tower is started, pics to come!

I will also install the bubble windscreen once I figure out how to make glass...

Sledge if you want glass you can take the texture from either the Kraken or Shark Class sub in their conning tower .dat file. It's called glass2.dds. It is a bit dark and I forget exactly how to edit it but it's still makes good glass. I'll look into how to make it lighter.

I thought I'd seen everything....

I tried something different with the texture..it still didn't work but ZOMG THE TOWER IS FLOATING AWAY!!!

edit... a black spot has appeared in my edit...
also, SW I tried adding your glass and it works kinda, I can't see anything through it...so it makes a better door than a window...

@Jan
Very cool, more reference pictures!

ADDENDUM (I like this word)
I noticed something in the pictures you sent me Jan. If you remember a while back on the Narwhal thread when there was that big discussion on different early war tower variations and there was mention of the USS Triggerfish having her decks drilled to allow the air to escape the superstructure better? Look on page 2 and tell me what you see there on the rounded bow of the Angler
another thing I noticed, the bulge mentioned in the GUPPY IIA conversion on page 1 isn't for covering up an exhaust port as said, My Gato model has that too and it's for the emergency marker buoy. it was welded shut during wartime and probably just as well after GUPPY conversion (it was done in wartime after a harrowing experience when a depthcharge knocked one loose and the buoy shot up to the surface where the Japanese destroyer used it as a beacon to lay relatively accurate patterns on the poor boat, of course, it then snapped off, while the boat escaped and listened to the destroyer continue to hound the poor buoy)
in conclusion, if they wanted to cover up an exhaust all they woulda had to do was weld a plate over the hole.

@Keltos
I have this interest in analyzing images like that, before I saw the link I can swear I'm looking at a U boat...it must have hit the bottom pretty hard, judging by the debris and the fact it's partially buried. but do I see a fore and aft gun placement?

no wait it's a type IX. I see those external torpedo storage bulges on the stern deck. that would explain the other gun on the deck, prolly a heavy flak gun.

hmmmmm

OH
and many thanks for fixing all my mistakes.
perhaps I should just stick to building things.
