Also you ( and others ) may just want to "defrag" your Hard Drive before starting a new SH4, 1.4 and then all those mods. Defrag is a good insurance.

Good luck.
Sorry for my total lack of knowledge. But how do you "defrag" a hard drive? I assume you need a special program. If there is one, where can I get it?

Download just finished. And it turns out. the one I had wasn't corrupted
I just uninstalled SH4, but I'm going to hold off reinstalling and patching until tomorrow. Hopefully it works or I'll have to revert back to 1.3.

But 1.3 is better than nothing...

I'm also planning to get SH3. I was actaully getting it a couple weeks aga, I went to future shop, they said they had 2 left. Searched the shelves and couldn't find it

My download is 224,975 kb, so 225mb is correct. At least that's the size of the 1.4 patch I downloaded and it works!

If you're using XP,

My Computer --> Right-click any drive --> Properties --> Tools --> Defragment Now... --> Select drive you want to defrag (in this case the drive where SH4 is installed, most probably C) --> Defragment --> Wait (may take between 10 minutes to beyond, depending on how good your processor is, how fragmented the drive is, how big it is, etc. etc.)

Thanks for the quick reply Lord Kelvin.
I appreciate it.

I just realized I never rebooted the computer after installation or patching. That could be the problem. I hope it is.
If not, I don't know what I am going to do...

Default Shyzar "Defrag"

If you have VISTA, then go to the control panel; look for system & maintenance; Administrative tools; and defrag hard drive. Have Fun

I haven't downloaded the patch yet, just found out about it. But hats of to the developer AND publisher for sticking with this and resolving many of the key issues that were holding this game back from reaching its true (awesome) potential. 1.4 plus mods will be spectacular.

Now I have to change my "Viva 1.3" tagline.

Hmm, my first install of SH4, I'm a little nervous, this is a whole new thing for me, I guess I will have to start at the accademy, wonder if if it's anything like SH3?
Sure hope this patch is good, rant, rave, etc.

Mine was around 219 MB, got it off of the Filefront mirror. Just try running it, and if it doesn't work, try getting it from a different mirror.

Wow, does this ever make a huge difference, I haven't played since 1.1, so you can imagine the joy I'm feeling now. Now to catch up on the current compatible mods and I'll be all set to sail the high seas

mad props Ubisoft.

Ok all you doubters and complainers. Delivered on time.

1st reaction playing from autosave in port out of Pearl is nothing obvious except internal periscopes animate. Water looks the same to me so far. Time will tell.
