Just curious, but who haven't moved on to SH4?

Anyone? :hmm:

Or have bought a copy of SH4 and hated it and went right back to SH3?

Personally, I have both but I find it tedious to refamiliarize myself with a new sub game. In SH3, I knew the places, controls and tactics almost by heart.

I have yet to start learning to play SH4 properly and remember the places well enough.

I don't know why but I feel I don't have the energy for it anymore.

When SH4 works as good as SH3 now and when I finally have a PC to run it properbly then it will be out as a low price budget version. Then I will complete my Silent Hunter compilation

SH IV is somewhere on the shelf, collecting dust....played it a few times, but it hasn't captured like SH III did (even when stock!)...

I might start playing it someday, but for now I really couldn't care less.

U-boats all the way.....

Sorry to cut in, but your missing out. With one of thje mod packs; (TMaru or RFB) and whatever else you would like to add from the TONS of available mods, SH4 not only works, it's darn near what I think the Dev's wanted to release. You should check it out..BUT it would be too cool if you GWX guys got a hold of it!

I haven't bought sh4 yet. I don't know anything about sh4 mods. But I've been reading threads about sh4 and official patches. With 1.3 it doesn't appear to work yet. But if mods fix it perhaps I should buy it and try it. 50 euros is bit steep. Perhaps when the price drops.

There's no way I'm heading for the Pacific unless 'The Lion' gives me a type IXD2 and sends me to Penang.

I haven't bought SHIV primarily because I am enjoying SHIII/GWX too much. The other reason is I would most probably have to upgrade my graphics card to make SHIV playable and I just can't be bothered with that at the moment. I agree with others on this forum that the Battle of the Atlantic is a much more challenging campaign than the Pacific. Having said that, it was Silent Service on the Commodore 64 which was set in the Pacific that got me into sub sims in the first place.

Never even bought it, even when I saw the previews and screen shots. I'd rather fight for the Fatherland.

Same here. That's why I still play Silent Service on my Atari with 512kb of RAM and no hard drive.

You should stay current on the threads; a lot of people are loving it with patch 1.3. (Oh, and welcome aboard!)

I'll say the same thing I've said the last several times this question has been asked: I can't play anything right now, but when I can I'll be playing both until something truly better comes along.

And take a look at the old archives. All the old SH3 threads have comments like "It sucks!" "It's unplayable!" "It's even worse than SH2...and that sucked, too!"
