We've had more than a dozen cats over the last 40 years or so and loved them all but the current cat is a worry!!!
He was doctored as a kitten and treated well but always bit hard whilst playing. As an adult cat he would be the most loving of all the cats put together, but...
He gets this gleam in his eye from time to time and will jump up on to my arm and latch on and bite drawing blood, I just give him a good whop!!
My wife on the other hand he hides and pounces on to one of her legs and sinks his teeth in quite deep, then runs off. Ten minutes later butter wouldn't melt in his mouth, so loveable!!
Has anyone here had this type of problem with their cat?
Maybe he has dual personalities!!!

Be very careful with cat bites. They can result in a nasty infection.

A friend of mine lost an arm to an infection after one of his cats went crazy and attacked him. No bites, just claws.

@ Markus: Yes as a young kitten.

I know how cat bites can be nasty, the sore is still weeping so must keep a watch on it, hopefully he hadn't feasted on a rat or something recently.
As far as having him put down it has been yes, no, yes, no, etc!!!

Reece, in very rarely cases a cat who have been neutered can get some kind of a "disorder" in his brain-Meaning he start to act totally different all the time or some of the time-

My little sister had many years ago a male cat who acted like your cat after he had been neutered. She went back to the vet and asked what to do-The vet said, come back with your cat and I will start to treat him for this "disorder" which can happen but it's very rarely.

About this Infection-Don't tell me about it have been bitten two times in my right hand. The first time my own cat had bored one of his "corner teeth" deep into my palm-about where the thumb begins. For some weeks I Had deep pain in my hand couldn't use it-Didn't go to my doctor.

Second time it was my neighbors cat who had only manage to bite me so I got a very little hole-Same result a lot of pain-This time I went to my doctor-They went all berserk-Said to them-take it easy I'm not having a heart-stop or something like it. They had reserved an ambulance ready to take me to hand surgeon in malmoe. Wasn't necessary.
