Known for liberal reporting, I'm sure you mean. Conservatively biased sites (especially radical ones) would never share such an embarrassing story.

This potentially means the vaccine could end up in your Cheerios and milk.

Well, I am looking forward to a booster since the original shots are out of your system within approximately 48 hours of injection (leaving behind a 5g chip .... I mean anti-bodies more capable of dealing with the virus). Maybe the vaccine will be put in my Wheaties and beer?

I thought the jury was still out on boosters. As you know many have not gotten the vaccine, contacted the virus and survived. This then provides natural immunity to some extent. Shouldn't herd immunity be reached eventually?

I don't know of a single instance of the population achieving herd immunity without the assistance of vaccines. (*ShruG* I could be wrong but I've seen no historical proof, so far.)

There is the assistance of vaccine in this case. I have read that those who have had COVID have a better immunity than those with the vaccine. Logically we can believe that both vaccine and natural immunity will produce herd immunity?

Not if the bugga keeps mutating Chris.

Then the vaccine will not create herd immunity. It will help those recover quickly. I'm still firm in my stance we will need to learn to live with this virus. Herd immunity was never in the cards.

Not so much, methinks.

"The percentage of the population that needs to be immune to attain herd immunity varies by disease and how contagious that disease is. Measles, for example, spreads so easily that an estimated 95% of a population needs to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity. In turn, the remaining 5% have protection because, at 95% coverage, measles will no longer spread. For polio, the threshold is about 80%."

Pretty much my thinking as well

There's a difference between vaccines and therapeutic drugs. Learning to live with something requires living. The effects of long Covid are still being studied. All prior vaccine experiences indicate that an effective vaccine will be needed to stop the spread and that stopping the spread will make this 'livable.'

I, personally, am not ready to accept a dystopian future just because I got tired of fighting the good fight.

I see. But as Jim pointed out, mutations are the undoing of immunity. We need to leave polio out of the picture. Only humans carry polio. COVID can be carried by animals. Lions in the San Diego Zoo have tested positive for COVID. That is another wrench in the monkey for COVID.
