I know Double R mentioned this to you; but you're not doing yourself any favors using that large of resolution. To each their own.....but the SH4 developers never in their wildest dreams had configured the game to display at that resolution. Just saying.
I'll not be able to make a Bearing Tool for that 2560x size. Just too big. The 1920x 3000 yd Bearing Tool is 45Mb in size. That's measured in Feet not inches in actual size! The 1500 yd Bearing Tool 1920x I just finished is 16Mb. It's large, but much more manageable. ================== Max-peck, you asked about the sh4.exe Properties tab regarding the Read-only setting.......Yes, don't have the Read-only check marked. Not only may this mess up your JSGME app, but if you use an app like Large Address Aware to open up the game to a larger memory access.....it won't "take" as long as the Read-only is enabled.

What resolution does everyone use when playing your game?
As a interested observer of this thread, my 22" monitor uses 1680 x 1050.

I get good enough solutions even stock + GFO , i normally shoot about 1000-2000yrds distance and hit to targets. Yes i know that stadimeter wont be 100% in stock but it wont mater if i still hit. (No map contacts etc in use ) ![]() Is there any other problems in 2560x rez ? Least my graphics are sharp and all seems to work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Manual Targeting takes whatever height figure you send it from the Recognition Manual......plus whatever height value of the Stadimeter you "clicked" when taking a reading. Its dependent on two things that will cause errors with Manual Targeting that's out of a players control. One is how close the height value (within the RM) is accurately given. If its off as much has the TMO 2.5 Hiryu's height figure......you'll miss the true range by as much as half what it should be. Yep, getting hits when the targets true distance is only 1000 yards away is just fine when the Stadimeter range actually reads only 500 yards. You'll never see the error. Even granny can shoot someone if she sticks the gun into the guys ribs! The second thing that throws off a Stadimeter reading is the actual position of the 2nd images water line when you make the "click". If the position is up towards the top of the periscope screen, you'll have less of an error factor figured in as compared to the position of the taken Stadimeter reading at the bottom of the screen. This was done to put an automatic error into the mix for those long shots (when the target is lower to the horizon), when compared to a close shot (when the target fills the screen, and the mast is high in the screen). This may be important to you guys that use these larger screen resolutions: When taking a Stadimeter reading, if you're off by a pixel width or two (yes, the game uses pixel widths to figure the Stadimeter's "clicked" position), the errors are far less towards the top of the screen than compared to the bottom. On targets 2000 yards away, a couple of pixel widths may produce an error of 10 to 30 yards range finding. At 4000 yards distance the error of only a couple of pixel widths can be in the 100's of yards. I'm suspecting the smaller the pixel widths (like the larger resolutions), the easier it is to miss by more than a couple of pixel widths.....compounding the error. Just a missplaced waterline image, or even a "twitch" of the 'ol ckicker finger can produce these errors, especially for those that have even smaller pixel widths than average. As I've said before, the game was designed at a time the 1024x768 4:3 Aspect Ratio was the default expected resolution the game was going to be played. Anything else, the Dev's left you on your own.

Sorry Capn
I appreciate your hard work But I also appreciate being able to choose my own keyboard layout Does this mean that we will have to delete TMOKeys and GFOKeys from the Google Drive? Because I do not think either of them will now work with FOTRSU
