Another Classic.
"Elvira Madigan" 1967. A 19th Century "Royal" scandal. True story and very sad But boring as all hell. The music's beautiful. Mozart's music is forever associated with this film. And the shrine receives thousands of visitors every year. Watch it with the missus.

@RedOctober did you watch the Blu-ray? It comes with the documentary "Hearts of Darkness" (filmed in 1991 I think) all about the making of the film pretty good stuff actually. For example the scene where Sheen was drunk and punches the glass well that was real as in really real. Sheen was going through a very low point is his life and that was a real fight with the beast within him in that scene.
Another interesting tidbit is that Francis Ford Coppola and some other like minded friends had ideas for the film in the late 60' when the war was still being fought. They for a time actually planned to go to Vietnam and film there in the middle of the war. The key thing with with Kilgore is his utter fascination with war.The "Some day this war is gonna end" bit well he is expressing disappointment towards the idea of there being an end. You should also watch the "original" version it has several differences yet still has the same conclusion it is just a little more trimmed for example the plantation scene and a few others where cut from the original film. |

Insidious Chapter 2
An absolutely horrible movie until the last half hour...and that's only if you've seen the first one. 4/10 after seeing the first one Probably a 2 or less if you don't. Sucked.

I'm watching The Evil Dead (1981)...
Seems like there is always conveniently a shelf to be thrown into by a demon. EDIT: Instead of making a whole new post about the movie, I'll just continue this one. It was decent. Probably scared a lot of people back in the day. I thought it was a joke...but most horror movies are. I'm going to watch the remake and see if it's not of the same caliber.

After watching Evil Dead 2...I really like the series.
I'm going to watch Army of Darkness and then the remake... Also watched the original Carrie....and I think the remake is better than the original.

Try to get the Army of Darkness edition that have all that was filmed and see. The trilogy is more comedy than horror. The second is "remake" of the first, minus a hand!

I had read that the third one is just basically a comedy...but the first one seemed like a genuine horror movie. Second one felt like a paranormal action movie.

Full of red juice! Yes, the third is more comedy oriented! When you see the AoD, try to spot the Emperor, from SW.

Army of Darkness was good....I didn't really know what to expect going in...but it was not a bad movie
The Evil Dead remake was also good...it made me feel pain in my joints and a little sick by the end... Sinister is up next.

Watched Emperor last night.
Pretty good. I don't know exactly how accurate it is...but it's an enjoyable story about General Fellers and General MacArthur and the "war on peace" in postwar Imperial Japan.

I thought Mad Max was going to be more of a "Post-Apocalyptic" movie instead of a dystopian movie.
Guess not. I like it regardless. Especially the cars.

MM2 gets more post apocalyptic. Did you see the original Australian soundtrack or the over dubbed American version?
