Thanks for that guys, I had been using them alot to make up numbers, but i've replaced all of them bar unit with proper line infantry. Using them for re-reinforcements now
![]() When I click on an enemy city, you can obviously see the gold bars representing the number of units in the city, but what do the silver ones mean? i'm about to invade Vienna but am unsure on what this actually means... |

That is the number of "Armed Citizenry" units that will pop up when you besiege the town. Naturally, there are more of them in a faction's capital, but they are pretty useless at fighting. You can steamroll them with provincial cavalry, easy.

I think they represent the citizenry that will join the battle if you assault the city i.e. in the form of 'armed mob' units. The gold bars are the regular garrison forces.
Edit: damn too slow. |

The Victorian era was sadly overlooked in games (as was the Great War), I hope that the mod turns out well

they should have started with the 17th century (Pikes&Muskets)
then a expansion for the 18th century (current ETW) and another expansion for the 19th century (Victorian) if it would be done properly it could be a better game. HunterICX

I was thinking that for a possible expansion could cover the period form 1800 to 1890. This would then include major campaigns seperately, like in M:TW - Kingdoms. So for example you could have:
- Napoleonic War (including Spanish peninsula war) - Crimean War - Franco/Prussian war - US Civil War Sound like a good idea?

Hmm just tried to play the game for a few hours.
The gameplay feel of the battle is much different than in Medieval 2 thanks to ranged weapon. The sea battles are tedious. And some bugs...most notable the changing sound volume in game. And a few others like floating dead body and floating flag setting which somehow always reverted back to always. No crashes so far. Performance is good on par with medieval 2 I believe. Somehow I think I like medieval 2 better when I first got it and tried it.
