Hi to all GWX Modder
I play your Mod since release. One or two enemy travels per day. My second campaign is running. In my first campaign i was sunk November 1942. I don´t have seen all ship´s and all base´s. The AI is still very good. Your Mod is a masterpiece. ![]() For my current patrol, i have activated the "Longer Repair Times v1.31 LITE". I think it is a very good addition, i like it. Make the enemy travel´s still more excitingly. The mod addition from nvdrifter is not finished. Do you want to install this mod in your future updates when the addition is finished? Greet Preuss |

Ahoi Kaleuns!
First of all, let me join the huge group of GWX users who have a hard time finding the most appropriate words to express their gratitude for this masterpiece: the new GWX! Thank you, thank you, thank you! ![]() Actually I was using War Ace Campaign 1.92full before and recently upgraded it to 2.0. I was very satisfied with that mod too (the graphics was absolutely breathtaking), so first I hesitated to even try the GWX out (it is so tedious to reinstall SH3, patch it and then mod it), but finally I decided to give it a try. And I haven't regreted it at all!!! The graphics of GWX is stunning, sounds effects and speech are perfect, realism seems to be just right to me! (However, my crew on my first patrol seemed to become tired too fast, after just a few hours of watch or diesel compartment duty... Maybe because they are green rookies and should get used to real war missions, I don't know.) After I tried the GWX out I had a really hard time deciding which mod (GWX or WAC 2.0) to prefer, because both of them are close to perfect. Finally I chose the GWX because it seems a bit more mature to me: I sought for minor bugs in both of these mods and GWX seemed to be immaculate, while in WAC 2.0 I have found some minor bugs (e.g. the recognition manual contains some vessels with high contrast backgrounds making the whole low-contrast recmanual look heterogenous and these pages are also pretty disturbing at night operations, but there are other minor bugs too). Also I used to have some CTDs with WAC 1.92full (especially close to harbours) so I do not fully trust this mod. Please do not misunderstand my words, because I think that Hansolo78 (the creator of WAC) is a genius and deserves every praise and respect for his fantastic work. So the main points that made me to choose GWX is was (supposed) stability and matureness (i.e.no minor bugs detected by me yet), because in other factors (e.g. graphics) I couldn't feel any significant differences (both of them are perfect). The only thing in which WAC seems to be the better than GWX is the fire+smoke+explosion effects: WAC incorporates the Hollywood XXL mod and sobers smoke mod, both of which I adore (I love to see those bodies flying off the deck after viscious explosions ![]() To conclude my long post let me express my gratitude once again to every person who worked on this two, truly great mods! Good hunting, gentlemen! ![]() Matyas p.s.: I hope that my post was (more or less) understandable, because sometimes I tend to compose my thoughts quite complicatedly (even in Hungarian)... ![]() |

Hi Matyas,
Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you had some good words for HanSolo78 as well. He does really great work... One thing that struck me about his mod is the really creative main menu interface he has constructed. I'm sure he will improve on the quirks of his mod... just as we improve on the quirks in ours. Welcome to Subsim.com... here is your potato peeler! Fritz is waiting for you in the galley. ![]() Sink them all mate! |

Hi GWX devs!
Thanks for welcoming me. If you don't mind I share my latest experience with GWX. I had some time tonight to test the GWX, and I encountered some minor bugs. I am curious whether others also have these. 1. I was playing one of the naval academy missions when suddenly the sound went off and didn't come back. I have also encountered this problem before when tweaking sound options in the sound menu (accessed via the main menu). I had to restart sh3, which solved this issue, but I am unhappy, because I couldn't save my progress before exiting, as I was playing a training mission... 2. During this training mission (convoy encounter) I was damaged by DCs and had to repair one of the electric engines (I don't remember which one) that is located in the electric engine room. However, I had to dispatch a repair team to the bow quarters (!) to repair it... The bow quarter was highlighted with yellow, but listing the devices in that compartment I didn't see any problems. Anyway I send the repairmen there and eventually noticed that the repair team in the bow quarters seemed to repair the damaged electric engine in the electric engine compartment. Strange, isn't it? 3. I also had a strange experience with the two destroyers, that were scorting the small convoy in this training mission. After the explosion of my torpedoes they came after me and started to attack me. OK, that 's normal, I didn't expected a war welcome from them. ![]() I hope you take these observations constructively as I wrote them only to help you in your future developments. I wish you all the very bests. Now I go back to peal some more potatoes. ![]() Matyas |

2) The "yellow compartment" simply appears to have taken damage to the structural integrity without damaging internal components... leading to your perception of the problem. 3) Old problem with SH3 again... sometimes ASW vessels sink themselves with DC's that detonate too shallow, catching them in the blast radius... This is lessened in GWX but not completely absent. We've done what we could with it. 4) When you're done with the potatoes you can start on the onions. ![]() |

The hull integrity percentage in the crew screen is missing. Is this part of GWX and how can I put it back? Thx.

![]() Made a little search and found this under another thread, I haven't tested it though... "------------------------------------------------------------ Hi charlesmester I play the GERMAN gwx version. I have activated the hull integrity in my german gwx version in Data/menu/de_menu.txt. The Number 589 ist empty. There you can write this command: 589=RUMPFZUSTAND %s % Then is the hull integrity on. I think in the ENGLISH version is it nearly the same: Data/menu/en_menu.txt. The Number 589 ist empty. There you can write this command: 589=hullintegrity %s % Preuss ------------------------------------------------------------"

Ok So heres a quick question I loaded GWX and took a look at the code.
after mucking about for a little while to see what you guys did I dumped the Main Data file and loaded in my Back up Data file and started my first Campaign in GWX for serious. (I had looked at the harbour earlier). However when I chose 7th Flotilla and launched my Type VIIB it turns out that the Deckgun has no ammo. the aa gun has AP only. is this normal? I Had put on a side emblem prior to launch, and remembered reading somewhere that that was at own risk. so deleted career and tried again samething over again. did not do any other upgrading prior to no launch not even torpedo load. Any Suggestions other than Uninstall Defrag Reload & Remod. ? MM ![]() |

Nope tis normal
Uboats only carried HE for the DG as a rule so thats all you have Click on the shell icon to begin loading the gun - whan manned of vourse ![]() The flak guns only show the ammo you actually have - the other icons that were there originally did nothing as you had no ammo for them |
