^ Exactly that! These were pressed into service with the Control Commission Germany, with whom they proved very popular. Aktung was getting close with his mention of my dad, who is shown here with his beetle when he was with the CCG in 1945
Well done, Catfish, except that it wasn't the roof!

Aktung was so close
it wasn't the roof, you should have said no lol I remembered this photo of your dad, but not the detail. I have now saved it! (interesting info also, i am just reading a summary of the english reeducation efforts in Germany after WW2). I may add that my mother worked for "Public Safety" after 1945 ! I noticed your detail photo did not exactly look like the roof of a 'beetle' (i had 3) but then i never had such an early one with the small ('Brezel') rear window. I have nothing ready, would it be ok if Aktung took the next one?

I did consider just answering "No" but then thought that might just look mean later on and I did wonder why you said 'roof' when there are no such pronounced swage lines along the roof of a beetle (I used to own one too)
Good going

Well it is russian and i 'spoze russians can put a bomb on anything; it is referred to as a 'bomber' in one of its variations now that U mention it. Another variant carried nuclear waepons.
