We've got a "Christo" exhibition currently at the Art Gallery.

At the Entrance there's one of his earlier masterpieces, a plastic wrapped bunch of flowers ( probably $M pricetag ).

It inspired me to have a go when I got home.

Since it's that time of the year again when I rewatch the Alien trilogy, I made these thingamalings which show the color scheme of the movies in 2,000 screenshots.

ALIEN

ALIENS

Alien 3

And (Original) Blade Runner as bonus since I watched it recently as well.

Dowly you should put them on display in the Tate Modern.

Default 453 Sqn Spitfires, 9 July 1944

Today's 'work in progress'

This is a digital sketch done on the computer, using photographs of models, and is a commission from an author and Facebook buddy who's produced a couple of books about the exploits of spitfire pilots from Down Under

It shows the scene when eight Spitfires decided to mix it with around fifty german fighters, climbing to attack them head on with engine boosts engaged, knowing of the Germans' disdain for head-on confrontation. They successfully split the enemy swarm as it came down, subsequently claiming four destroyed & six damaged for no loss

There are no terrain or cloud details here, neither are the aircraft properly detailed yet... this will happen at the actual painting stage

Changed things slightly: the nearest Spitfire and his wingman needed to be bigger... it's so helpful being able to manipulate the image on the pc these days

Just getting on with the aircraft now

Nearly finished

Default Finished (12x16" acrylic on 'Claybord' panel)

9th July 1944 near Lisieux, eight 453 Squadron spitfires take on around fifty enemy fighters in a bold climbing attack, knowing the Germans' disdain for head-on confrontations. The Aussies turned the diving enemy, who "Came down like a waterfall", and subsequently claimed 4 destroyed and 6 damaged for no loss to themselves

8 spitfires attacking 50 Bf109*s from below. Now, that was bravery!

Gorgeous painting.

Thanks, Jim & CW... I've been tinkering with the Hurricane painting again, so will probably post an improved picture shortly
