Hello all,

My first post after a long time, and sorry for my late response. I was in contact with one of the moderators before posting my reply.

Since this topic went public so it was better to respond in public then sending a PM to AL to clarify my position.

The information that AL got about me from googling is correct. I am a member of other wolfpackleague forum, and my e-mail address is quite easy to get if you use google.

I DID NOT report AL's signature. I have no grudge or any hostile feeling towards AL or any other forum member. As far as I remember that I never had any argument with her. There is nothing unusual in her signature. I treat internet forum as a place where people post just to kill some time. It is possible that somebody else got my info from a bit of googling, and then got a chance to start a flame war. I don't know the motive of that person.

Thanks moderators for allowing me to give some explainations.

Folks, I would like to put a damper on anyone trying to guess who the person was that submitted the deletion requests to ImageShack.

I am in negotiations with ImageShack to obtain the submitter's recorded URL address. Once obtained, I will forard it to several forum owners here and elsewhere, who have shown an interest in identifying what forum member would be doing this to others.

It may very well be that the person used another person's address, a classic case of spoofing. Let's wait and see.

So, I'd like to make some final conclusions:

1. Apparently anyone can ask that any image giving a hint of impropriety (even if the hint is wrong) be deleted and ImageShack will comply pronto.

2. Spoofing someone's identity may be in the workings here.

3. The image is now permanently hosted privately.

4. Consider the issue closed, at least until I obtain additional data that will pinpoint the person involved.

One last important point: an apology to Oombongo.

When I originally posted the full response from ImageShack, which included the submitter's supposed email addresses, I did not take into account the potential for spoofing and as such I made a tremendous mistake revealing the email addresses.

Fortunately, we have moderators here who think of everything for the rest of us. Thanks to Gizzmoe for being quick on the draw and removing the email addresses before most anyone noticed them and could trace them.

Again, case closed until more evidence comes in.

Whoever it was, and after having attacked AL now also added to bring Oombongo into miscredit to his list of misbehavings - I still want to see him being banned. I think, the latter crime weights even heavier then the cowardish deletion of AL's signature.

Shame on you, sly little coward!

German proverb, don't know the english equivalent. Means something like "like in small issues, so in big issues."

Back to our meek corners we go!
I doubt it. I do not think muslims care very much about fascism, other than it being just one more non-Islamic things. They might not like it, but I see no obvious reason why it would offended them more than other non-Islamic ideologies.

The reason for the use of the word "fascist" is probably because our enemy of free speech wants to create some strong feelings in the target of his message (the image hosting site, Americans probably), not because the term is very offensive to him.

Edit: to clarify, some who describe themselves as muslims (and would be seen by others as apostates in denial, but we've been in that discussion before) would of course hate fascism, but probably due to having accepted some modern Western culture and values and not due to Islam-specific reasons.

Combining Islam with fascism is idiotic. What they have in common only is this: both are totalitarian. The word fascism is used in combination with Islam only to make an easy score at people's emotions. Nevertheless it is a wrong linking of two different conceptions. I am no freind of Islam myself, but we do not help to fight against it when becoming unprecise and publishing wrong target identification for cheap and shortsigthed reasons. that way they only can counter-argue against us and rightfully accuse us of not knowing what fascism and what Islam is - why do we reject Islam then when we do not know what it is...?

So, Islam is totalitarian. It is not fascist.
