To me, every muslim is either active or passive terrorist.
I will never "convert" to any sort of religion. So the muslims have no other choice but to slay me and then slay me some more. The Koran says: slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (9:5) Those are the words that fundamental true muslim must obey. These true muslims I call active terrorists. Well what about passive terrorists then? Passive terrorists I call cultural muslims <- wikipedia link. These muslims feel indifferently about their religion at the moment (they don't pray five times a day for example) and VALUE only the non-violent stuff in Koran. But what happens when the influence of Islam increases in my country and the Mullahs start asking the followers which one is bigger authority the Koran or the nations secular laws? Every muslim I have ever hear about has said that Koran comes always first. And from of the pressure of the community those passive terrorists will then turn into active ones because they have no other choice, otherwise they will be killed too. |

This may be a little off topic, but Avon Lady, how do you feel about all of this? You are right in the middle of this mess, and your home country is obviously one of the (if not THE) main target for a jihad or other attacks. It seems as if you have more to worry about than some other members of this board such as myself - I hope this all turns out alright.

![]() Yes, Western nations are those which should worry most right now, even if we are not in the immediate geographic location of the violence. Although there are increasing protests in North America to limit or end freedom of speech concerning religion (i.e. Islam). :hmm: ![]() Are there any protests in Israel? I have heard that there haven't been many yet, and that everything is under control there. |

I'm really sorry that I came home so late and didn't lock this thread after posting 4. But then, even after 72 postings in one day, it is never too late to correct one's own mistake.
CLANG! Brief explanation: Religions are a sensitive subject to discuss and therefor deserve a minimum of respect. Criticism of religious doctrines is allowed, criticism on the behaviour of religious groups or individuals is allowed but slanderous generalisations (of any religion) are not allowed. Furthermore we should realise that there are Christian, Jewish and Muslim (in alfabetical order) forum members, our subsim mates, who all should feel welcome to this forum. Some - especially earlier - postings in this thread were way out of line... There is noting against a tough debate, and in a debate feelings can get hurt, but there are levels of decency that we have to maintain. If you can't distinguish that borderline, you better stay out of the debate. Litterature: http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/faq.php#0 Abraham (with moderator cap on)
