OK. From my 'The Twilight Zone Companion', Hard Back, 1982, First Edition.
Page 386.......

Although initially scary (particularly to small children), blah, blah, blah.
This thing looked like a Panda Bear.

So it's a Giant, Airplane trashing, Panda Bear looking, thing.

Thing seeming to be the key word.

The later re-make had a better looking 'thing' but the shock value was in the original!!

But... he's not that bad in season 1. When does it get bad?
(excluding the movies)

Dowly! Pay attention! This thread depends on that!

Now you must imagine that with Shatner 'Acting' it.

After about 20 years of reruns, and some bad movie choices. It's all negative hype, created by haters.

Now, see, I havent followed Shatner. I have seen 3-4 Boston Legal eps and
I did like him in that. I've seen the ST movies (not the latest lens flare fest),
and thought he was a tad old.

I dont remember what I was saying, but it was something important as usual!

EDIT: Oh right, when did Shatner get old calculated in ST seasons?

Oh, Steve, if you only know what a reputation Ol' Bill has in Hollywood you would know it is not mere hate. Let's just put it this way: When Shatner is acting, he's not really acting. Many years ago, the powers that be controlling the Trek franchise made a deliberate decision to sideline Shatner as a liability to the contiued life of Trek. This is why most, if not all, of the other ST:TOS stars have been in Trek projects and Shatner has not...

Way back in the late 60s, I was walking around outside the old Desilu Studios (now part of Paramount Studios) where ST:TOS was filmed. On the wall right net to one of the entrances, fans had written grafitti about the series ("I Grok Spock", "I Love Scotty", etc.). There was one entry, written in large, bold letters: "Dump Shatner!". To this day I wonder which memeber of the cast worte it....

And that puts us both on a level playing field.

Shatner's early acting is an American Joke thing from WAY back.

He has gotten much better!

Yeah, well, the grading system sucks poopy dickens here. Theory portions I'm
not good at, nor I do feel I need to be good at. Practical stuff? I get straight
3's (3=A), but what drops my grade is the silly theory crap that I could just
check with my phone if I need to "in real work environment".

But, the school's over (I'm now a welder and an electrician!), so drink I shall have.
