Northern Model Show 2011

I've not been long back from the Northern Model Show 2011 which had it's venue almost 2 mile down the road from my place of abode.

The standard of exhibit was very high IMHO and I took a shed load of pictures.

I doubt my photoraphy skills (or lack of will do the exhibits justice) but I'll post them here for your viewing asap.

The diecast are safely stored awaiting an introduction into the man cave.

These are kits and scratchbuilt examples from plast, card etc.

I know I keep saying it but I just hope my photographs give a fair representation of some of the excellent examples I've yet to post.

Nice nice nice!

I like the floats & boats pictures.

The "models" jokes remind me of a personal story. Back in '78 I was working at a local hobby shop. When I told a friend I had a job at Douglas Models his immediate response was "Cool! Can you get me a date?"

LOL....older than both of us I suspect but true none the less

There's a lot more to come...some of the dioramas and subs are really cool

British markings UG squdron code.

I like the simple ship diarama and, the WWII German search plane on the catapult, with looks like builder made and an excellent job too.

You've got me there....it looks a little like a Fairey Battle perhaps?

UG was the squadron code used by 16, 310 and 1654 Squadrons during the war http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_RAF_Squadron_Codes

This link will explain what aircraft used....typically no Fairey Battle

I appreciate it doesn't help identify the aircraft type but the model builder may have attached historically innacurate decals.
