Also, a protip on site administration: we're not your personal army

If you get into an argument on GT and don't like where it's going, you're on your own. I'm not defending Tribesman here, but please realize that all your proclamations, threats, and over-the-top pomposity in trying to build your credo on this make you look very, very silly indeed.

At a certain point, you're better off just keeping distance and not letting it get to you.

People disagree here all the time. There are posters here that I pretty much disagree with everything they write. But I don't let it get to me.

Life is too short to get spun up over what is written on a video game forum website.
I don't agree with this at all. I mean really... No wait.... Nevermind.

You really do have a problem.

Quote:
As for you, the afore mentioned dirt bag Euro Elitist, I challenge you to a debate on the fundamentals of American history and government. Or we can debate the Nordic conquests of "your" people (the Anglo Saxons - even tho there is much doubt as to whether or not any tru Anglo Saxons exist).
So history and geography are not your forte then, we can add that to your problems with language comprehension and maths. In fact all you seem to excel at is Drama but I think your report card will have some negative comments about over acting and incredibility in that field

Quote:
I will not sit here and let someone that stands against all that I am for call me unintelligent.
What exactly is it you think you stand for?
Going by some other comments you have made you seem to think you stand for America, perhaps you had better get permission from other Americans first.

PS: notice how he so blissfully ignores all the background information and examples I provide.

If you want to provide examples of how you are so much more intelligent than your teachers you will submit your work with sources and reference to an examining body and also submit all your teachers papers they produced and let the body make an assesment on how much cleverer you are
Saying that you are an "expert" on air forces or the pacific theatre cuts no ice whatsoever and certainly doesn't prove your claim...damn that report card must have a bad mark for logic too

Back on TOPIC!

I don't know if I'd compare public schools to prisons, I mean sure there are similarities, but I believe most of the security personal, regulations, and equipment are there for the safety of the students and staff. I mean I'm sure there are cases of security staff and the school board overreacting (I'd know all about that, I went to a Catholic school and let me tell you the nuns who ran the place were pure evil, no offense to any Catholics.) But in general I think the system is fine.... for now.

Although I do not agree with banning from-home lunches, mostly because I'd take a bologna sandwich from home over the average school cafeteria food any day.

Edit: And back off topic less than a minute after I posted this....

If someone on the GT forums has driven you to the point of namecalling and wanting to curse, then it sounds like a personal problem and not a mod problem. You have an ignore list. Use it and move on.

Don't you mean petulant schoolboy attitude?
You make some good points, but once again you can't control your penchant for simply ripping on people without actually countering the argument, no matter how simple it may be. You keep insisting on goading people. You intellect is obvious, and your grasp of many facts is undeniable, but your sophomoric attacks reduce your points to meaningless. You're trolling again, and you're doing it intentionally. You need to stop attacking people and start talking to them.

On the other hand...

You do have tendency to post flat statements which seem to imply you know as much or more than the people you're talking to.

He's goading you intentionally. It's what trolls do. That you took his bait proves that he's good at what he does. As said, you need to ignore him.

Resorting to direct personal attacks will get you in trouble just as fast as breaking the language rules.

Good luck with that. He doesn't usually debate - just insult.

You are not unintelligent, nor uneducated. You are, however, young. While not a bad thing in itself it does mean you have a lot to learn about proper debate, not acting superior to those around you (it doesn't sit well, whether it's true or not, and here it will usually not be true) and self-control. Be calm, be patient. You'll get there.

The arguement was fully countered in the first reply

A student complaining about how horrible school is and how unfair it all is and how dumb the teachers are.....a story as old as the first school
The arguement then had to be repeated in slightly different words as he said really thought he was smarter than everyone else in the education system from the teachers to the academic publishers and authors, which not only is an old story but is one of the most ridiculous possible.
The next point countered was a claim over a nonsensical comparison over expense.
So think again Steve, his arguements were countered right from the start and very easily at that.

BTW.....

Come on Steve, surely your history and geography isn't as bad as his..... Anglo-Saxon Ireland

I blame Mel Gibson.

Anyway, neither the Angles nor the Saxons could get anywhere near Ireland (or Hibernia as it was known back then) because every time they tried someone came along and booted them out. So they left it to the Picts and Celts until le Frenchies came along. The Anglo-Normans then wedged their way into the Irish system and eventually took it over (through alliances during the inter-Irish wars). However since it was a conquest by gentlemans agreement, eventually the gentlemen died out and the mainlands power dried up into a little area about the third of the size of Northern Ireland, it stayed that way until big Henry made the Kingdom of Ireland...and after that, well, it's kinda messy through the 1500s until 1922 when Ireland officially split. Lots of bad blood which is only just being settled in some areas (and still boiling in others). So there you go. Not many Anglo-Saxons in Ireland. Though, to be honest, to someone unfamiliar with the background of the whole Anglo-Saxon era of Britain it is perhaps an easy mistake to make, if you were to ask me to get technical with American history I would probably make similar mistakes. Heck, even I didn't know about quite how the mainland wound up in charge of Ireland until I did a brief wiki search, although I'm aware of the Cromwellian war...and the bad blood behind that, which I fully understand.

However, easy way to remember, Ireland and Scotland = Picts and Celts England = Anglo-Saxons and Wales = a number of non-Anglo-Saxon kingdoms (Gwent, Powys, and others). It's not quite as simple as that in reality (there were numerous Anglo-Saxon tribes, Mercia, East Angles, etc), but if you don't want to get into the detail then that's one way to remember it.

Quite a fascinating era, one could draw a few parallels with the Roman departure from Britain with the withdrawal from Afghanistan...but that's for another topic.

Oh...I'm sorry...I did it again, a sensible answer...must be time to take my pills again...
