Some are French and Italian. Libya has Mirage F1 fighters (like those that defected), La Combattante PTGs from France and Otomat missile from Italy/France. Libya also has a British Frigate and a Yugoslav submarine rescue ship in addition to Czech light attack jets. Their army also operates Brazilian and Czech/Polish IFVs.

And that's hardly the latest technology available, airplanes must surely be 30 years or equivalent

Still mostly Soviet equipped as I said. I'll also note there are no "US guns" which makes the title of this thread a bald faced lie.

Imo any political ideal falls apart when individual rights are not respected which is a fundamental prerequisite to a civilized society.

Unfortunately many of the political leaders of 21st century are in fact less civilized than many would like them to be. Political leadership should not be filled with the worst segment of character in society who will bring down every aspect of the country in the end.

I agree Castout, and its interesting to see a once anti-imperialist, to submit to neoliberalism. The Bush administration sold Kadafi the weapons in 2002.

@ redsocialist: Yes, and apparently he was also best buds with your hero Chavez in Venezuela. If you're trying to make a point, you'll have to do better.

Here, a socialist joke I made on the spot.

at a meeting of the soviet cabinet, the speaker asked a question:
"the anti revolutionary enemies are everywhere. I should ask, is there an enemy here?"

someone replied:
"yes comrade, and he is third from the left in the third row"

the speaker asked:
"how do you know?"

"comrade Lenin said the enemy never sleeps! He was the only one that did not sleep during your presentation!"

Are these younger folks losing the fine art of using their brains for spell checking? It's not that hard. Once you look it up in an real paper dictionary you'll rarely ever forget how to spell a particular word.

I guess lifting a book requires too much effort these days.
