Defense industry of Russian Federation cannot produce modern missiles at rate at which they are consumed - British intelligence
The Russian defense industry is probably incapable of producing modern ammunition at the rate at which it is being consumed. This is stated in the daily report of British intelligence, Censor.NET reports. The report reports that on October 10, Russia fired more than 80 cruise missiles over Ukraine. Ukraine's Defense Ministry said more than half were shot down, but dozens hit Kyiv and other populated areas, killing civilians and damaging civilian infrastructure. "These strikes are a further degradation of Russia's long-range missile stockpile, which will likely limit their ability to hit the desired number of targets in the future," the statement said. Putin’s regime is even more isolated and closed than Soviet regime - Obama
Former US President Barack Obama has said that communication between the White House and the administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin is weaker than it was between US and Soviet leaders during the Cold War. This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform. In an interview on the Pod Save America podcast, Obama said that even during some of the tense moments of the Cold War, there was a sense that both sides could pick up the phone and work through diplomatic channels, "sending clear signals." "I think we are now dealing with a type of Russian regime that is actually even more centralized, even more, isolated and closed. Putin has consolidated the decision-making process to a degree that we have not seen even in Soviet times," he said. Source: https://censor.net/en/n3374079 |

Prolonged power outages at Zaporizhzhia NPP may lead to second Fukushima, - Head of Energoatom, Kotin
According to the head of "Energoatom" Petr Kotin, there is a high danger of a nuclear accident at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, and the situation is only getting worse every week. He believes that prolonged power outages at the station could lead to a second Fukushima. He stated this in an interview with the German TV channel ZDF, Censor.NET informs with reference to DW. "The occupiers, among other things, damaged the administrative building, the training center, and one of the NPP units, they are storing equipment and trucks, which creates a high risk of fire. No one knows what is stored in these trucks," Kotin said. According to him, employees of the Zaporizhzhia NPP are under great pressure. "Now they are trying to force the staff to sign labor contracts with Russia. The staff have a choice - either sign these contracts or be beaten and tortured," he said, adding that about a hundred people were detained and no one knows what happened to them. "People are forbidden to leave the boundaries of the NPP," explained Kotin. In his opinion, the highest threat of a nuclear accident remains at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. He noted that such an accident almost happened three times already. Kotin explained this by the fact that the ZNPP depends on the power supply. During the shutdown of the cooling system, the melting of the reactor fuel rods begins. Kotin compared it to the nuclear disaster at the Japanese nuclear power plant "Fukushima", where the power supply system was destroyed by a tsunami, and within three hours the melting of the rods began. As a reminder, all six reactors of the Zaporizhzhia NPP are currently shut down. In recent days, factory generators have already been started twice due to the termination of the external and reserve power supply of the station. On October 14, the IAEA reported that the Zaporizhzhia NPP was again connected to backup power. Source: https://censor.net/en/n3374095 |

What is it now about Cherson?
It seems it depends on what source you ask. US American and Ukrainian sources seem to comment like that the Ukrainians are successfully forming a pince attack to encircle the Russians. European and more pro-Russian sources seem to tend towards commenting like that the offensive by the Ukrainians has somewhat stalled more or less and that Russian lines are holding. From the outside its difficult if not impossible form an educated opinion on whom is more right.

From what I’ve read Ukraine recently ordered and asked friendly locals and map bloggers for a media blackout of the Kherson op area. Scuttlebutt is “something big” is happening.
Considering that just a few days ago the Russian puppet government in Kherson was publicly asking Russia to evacuate them. I’m thinking it may be a Ukrainian offensive. Last edited by Rockstar; 10-16-22 at 11:43 AM. |

Time has come for Ukraine to receive military aid, - Minister of Israel Shai
Israel’s Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Nachman Shai, advocated his country’s provision of military aid to Ukraine. "This morning it became known that Iran is transferring ballistic missiles to Russia. There is no longer any doubt as to what position Israel should take in this bloody conflict. It is time for Ukraine to receive military assistance, as provided by the United States and NATO countries," Shai said, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrainian Pravda. On October 16, The Washington Post, citing US and allied security officials, reported that Iran is increasing its commitment to supply Russia with weapons for the war against Ukraine and is ready to hand over not only drones, but also surface-to-surface missiles. On September 24, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he was shocked by the lack of aid to Ukraine from Israel since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. U.S. is trying to convince Russia not to consider any nuclear weapons options, - Biden’s advisor Sullivan
The United States of America will respond equally to Russia’s use of any form of nuclear weapons in a war with Ukraine. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told CNN on October 17, reports Censor.NЕТ. A CNN correspondent asked whether the U.S. would treat Russia's "tactical" use of nuclear weapons - hitting a small target or a bombing in the Black Sea, for example - differently from a large-scale attack. "The use of nuclear weapons on the battlefield in Ukraine is the use of nuclear weapons on the battlefield in Ukraine. The notion that there are any differences in use, I think, is dangerous," Sullivan said. "From our perspective, we believe that the United States has an obligation, working with our NATO allies and partners and other responsible countries around the world, including countries like China and India, to send a very clear and strong message to Russia that they should not consider using nuclear weapons in this conflict," Sullivan continued. Russia resorts to ethnic cleansing in Ukraine - ISW
Russia’s actions in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, reported by Russian officials, fall under the definition of ethnic cleansing. This was stated in daily summary by Washington Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to LigaBusinessInform. Experts note that "Russia continues to carry out mass forced deportations of Ukrainians, which appear to be part of a campaign of deliberate ethnic cleansing in addition to clear violations of the Convention on the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said on October 14 that "several thousand" children from the Kherson region "are already in other regions of Russia, resting in rest homes and children's camps. ISW notes that earlier the Russian authorities openly admitted that they intend to give children from the occupied regions of Ukraine for adoption to Russian families. Experts point out that this could be qualified as a violation of the Convention on the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide. The summary also states that the Russian authorities may pursue a policy of ethnic cleansing by deporting Ukrainians and settling Russian citizens in occupied cities. ISW points out that ethnic cleansing itself is not a crime under international law, but is labeled by the UN commission on violations of humanitarian law in the former Yugoslavia as "the granting of ethnic homogeneity by force or intimidation to evict certain groups. and as "the deliberate policy of one ethnic or religious group to evict by violent and terrorist means the civilian population of another ethnic or religious group from certain geographical areas. Experts note that these definitions are fully consistent with reports of the forced deportation and adoption of Ukrainian children, as well as with reports from Ukrainian sources that occupier projects to rebuild Mariupol involve the settlement of "tens of thousands of Russians". Beside sending weapons to Ukraine and impose weak sanction and embargo against Russia, what is the chance that our leaders will act in case Putin goes berserk and use tactical nukes in Ukraine ?
So far it has only been verbal threat from both side. So far there's no indication Russia is preparing their tactical nukes. Why can't Putin be so much of a man and admit he has lost the war in Ukraine and withdraw his troop. Markus
