Personally I'd copy that whole folder to someplace out side of the program folder then install GWX.

Posting Neal's path to install GWX 3 on a Steam install for future reference.

D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Silent Hunter 3

Now one may have a different drive path!
So it could be
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Silent Hunter 3

The link below is a Patch file for the Steam issue.

Copy your Silent Hunter 3 folder from Steam to a SAFE folder somewhere other then the standard install.

You will need to point the Patch to THAT folder!

I checked an older version of Steam's SH3 install and they did in fact change the SH3.exe!
Seems they were giving you all the Reloaded hacked version.

That program is only for early versions of Steam installs.

I don't claim to be the first to do a fix.
I may be the first to make sure We all had PERMISSION to edit/send UBI owned files in the base folder based off of this post.
And not just assume it was OK.

My simple fix also does not require you to drop your firewall for unknown reasons.
And I mean ANY site that tracks you is suspect!

WOW - finally got around to GWX. This is the SHIZNIT !!!

Properly installed and running great !! HOWEVER/BUT

Where is the missing Watch Officer to do my bidding??

a.) DRUNK - passed out in his bunk?

b.) In the head touching himself?

c.) Fell overboard?

d.) Missed the sailing and back in Brest with his HO?

e.) YOU TELL ME.

HELLLLLLLP !!!!! Please.......

Hi all! So i play the GWX mod on mission 3 where i get i sweet type 21 U boat with a radar on it, the problem is that i cant get it to turn it on, the antenna is up and i even get the radioman telling me that he has contacts on the radar but i can't have him report those to me nor operate the radar myself (can't turn it on actually), any those/ similar experiences?

Can we have more capital ships in game such as WAC 5.2? If yes how to do, or its possible to copy/paste campain files (lnd,scr,rnd) from other mods?

Simply swapping campaign files won't work; they may contain ships, planes, etc. that you wouldn't have in your install which would cause ctds.
But adding individual ships, etc. isn't hard to do. There are many links of info. about doing such; instead of listing them here might be best to google the subject.
There is an excellent "adding new ships.pdf" but I can't recall who/where it is.
