Do we have to start a new career for these to work or will they work when loading a career ,but not while in mid-patrol?

Do you mean delete; if you mean replace, with what do I replace it?

"Quite honestly, I hope there won't be a need for such a mod!"--observer.

I am realitivly new to sh3 but can't agree more. I would hope ubisoft has been paying attention to the great work done by the gurus here-NYGM,GW,RUB,UWAC,Commander,skins,etc (sorry for listing others on the nygm thread-have multiple installs to suit my mood) but it would be a let down if SHIV follows the same development of SH3. i know it's free community project mods but i think it would be great for ubi to contract some of the guys on this forum for the initial release. (hope noob statement does not offend said "guys on this forum")

I hope the developers will make the files "modable" in SHIV, because no matter how good they are, dozens of talented people working with the talent and devotion of the NYGM mod team AND THE OTHER MODELERS, INCLUDING SH3 CMDR AND GW, will make it better.

Guys,

I`m just back to SH3 after long break....and downloading GW 11a plus SH3Commander 1.46....is the NYGM 2.0 compatible with that and what is installation order and potential obstacles to watch out...looking thorugh the forums it looks like these 3 mods pretty much exhaust the neccessary mods list ?

thnx for help...

No they are not compatible. You have numerous different options you may choose to run both mods if you so desire. There have been a couple of threads in the mods forum on how to do dual (or more!) installs.

Just installed NYGM on recommendation from a friend. LOVE IT!

Love all the port traffic. Love the radio messages. Love the crew fatigue model. Love everything.

Well almost.

Um......firstly, is it possible at all to restore the plain SH3 underwater visibility? I just always found it really cool to park myself on the seabed and look up. Now I look up and cant see the surface from 50m down.

Secondly, has DD passive sonar been made infinately better? I'd gotton pretty good at getting away from DDs. With NYGM I just cant seem to get away at all. I even enabled the noise meter to see what's going on......160m down, running silent on ahead slow and the only time the noise meter turns anything but red is when I'm in a DDs baffles after it's attack run. With more than one DD around it'll never turn green. What gives?

And....this is gonna sound silly but.....this Kiel canal thingy. Um.....ok, I set a course through it and after about 10 miles the time compression dropped from 1024 to 4. How is this quicker (in real time) than sailing around Denmark?

Yes DD sensors have changed - have a good look thru this thread will explain all

As for Kiel its not just the RL time its game time you save going thru Kiel and tha amount of fuel you save

IIRC you have an autoplot feature thru the canal in NYGM and you can change T|C settings close to land with SH3 commander thats why it drops to 4 because its set to drop to 4 when close to land
