Just as the Buna empire was about to declare victory, hordes of zulu soldiers over-ran their position. Their leader, Shaka-Reece, declaired" "Burn down dis place, and dat brewery for Newcastle Ale, tear it down and take it back to Greater Zulureecelandia."

Now that the Grand Brewery of Newcastle had been destroyed by the zulus, the Geordies now had money to spend on other things, such as trips to the US to visit Ol McBee and ride on his PT boat, and visit many micro breweries.

Back when a can o' beer was an actual can o' beer.

I wonder how many of the younger generation knows what a Church Key is or whether they can use it without stabbing themselves.

Yieehaw, I am still a member of the young generation!
However I know what the device is...
When were the last cans with a churchkey sold?
Back in the teen days we often made an extra hole into the cans to drink the beer at once - amazing that n obody ever got seriously hurt...

Pull top cans were first marketed in 1962.

I don't know when the last non-pull top can for beer was marketed. But I think they were gone by 1970

Since everyone who posted on this thread was, at one time, the last poster, I think we should all win. Just like when Time named me Person of the year.

I still remember pull-tab beer cans in the late 70's and early 80's - maybe up to 82, 83? Maybe a little later than then.
