The flight over to the US was 10+ hours (the return 9).

The tatoo signifies the England National Cricket Emblem .....on the other bicep is the club crest of my soccer team (not photographed as far as I recall) Newcastle United.

What did you do to fill the 10 hours??? Holy mackeral, is there enough magazines out there to cover 10 hours? It is a cool tattoo! I like the Newcastle emblem as a tattoo. Long ago under heavy influence of alcohol I got an eagle tattoo. I'm thinking of getting a tattoo of the 410th Bomber Group patch. Pegasus with 500 pound bombs under his wings. Looks like you enjoyed the trip. First time to the states?

All this whining. I never had any problems keeping up with him!

We will be making a few more trips down to work at Seawolf Park. PM Neal your info and he can make sure you know when a few of us are going that way. For those of us in the area it should be something we do several times a year.

Looked like a hell of a lot of fun! i just hope its not in Europe come next year. I would have been there this year but circumstances threw me a curve ball.

To the next subsim meet!

Bad news. It's supposed to be in Europe next year. Denmark, to be precise.

The 10 hours was just the Atlanic portion of the flight.

I flew from Newcastle @09:10 to Heathrow, then Heathrow to Houston arriving @17:30 Texan time (including the 6 hours time difference = 14h 20m. (TarJak coming from Aussie had an extra 3 or 4 hours travel time).

Then more or less the same return.

The inflight entertainment was first class....I watched a couple of films (Hancock and the latest Indiana Jones) a few episodes of Friends, played a few albums from the selection on offer and the latest BBC World News.

You'd be suprised how quickly the flight goes over if you don't fall into the trap of constantly watching the GPRS (position, distance, time etc.) in the seat ahead of you.

First time to the USA for me and well worth the effort.

I met a lot of people I was desperate to meet, made a boat load of friends and cemented a few already existing relationships.

On behalf of the 4 Grey Wolves who attended I am more than happy to say that the warmth, friendship and hospitality afforded to us was second to none.

I'm looking forward to seeing Pegasus when done....I contemplated having the green laughing swordfish on a forearm but decided it was a little OTT and took a few badges over for Neal and co instead LOL

Here's the fotball one from the left bicep.

The Grey Wolves 'Raid On Texas'

Well, there goes some hard drive space! Great pix, Jim, but looking at them I suddenly realize that I'm going to have to download and keep everybody's pictures!

What memories!

Looks like a good time was had by all and I'm glad you first visit to the states was a good one. My kids always ask me what country I would like to visit first and my response is always the UK. Just a lot of history between our two countries and I would like to visit all the places in the books I read on the subject specifically concerning WW2. I would like to view my Uncles name in the book contained in West Minister Abby. The UK is rich in history and in comparison to the US, we are just babes in the woods.

Nice tattoo. I see you like the thin black outline. I like the thin line as well. The larger lines just take away for the overall tattoo.

If you would like me to send you a link to 100+ photos from the Meet, I'd be more than happy to oblige

@AVG

Rgr that....come to Denmark next year and you'll only be a short ferry trip or plane flight away.

I have to raise my two girls first before I can head off on a tour of Europe. I'm looking at about 8 more years before they get their wings and fly. For now, it is a forum and few posted pictures.

From looking at the pictures and reading Sailor Steve's thread, it sounds like everyone had an unbelievably good time. I would love to have come, but I am SO going to Denmark next year!!
