My funniest memory was back in March this year.

'You went to a GRAMMAR SCHOOL!' Commons ERUPTS as PM destroys HYPOCRITICAL Corbyn

It was in response to criticism from the Leader of the Opposition, who accused Mrs May of a “divisive vanity project” with her bid to lift a ban on new grammar schools.

However, taking no prisoners, the prime minster humiliated Mr Corbyn as she unleashed a volley of words against the Labour party.

Quote:
“But, I have to say to the right honourable gentleman; his shadow home secretary sent her child to a private school. His shadow attorney general sent her child to a private school.”

The Conservative leader pointed her pen in the direction of Mr Corbyn as she continued: “He sent his child to a grammar school, he went to a grammar school himself.”

Snapping her note book closed, Mrs May delivered the final brutal blow: “Typical Labour, take the advantage and pull-up the ladder behind you.”

So yet another 'net receiver' (nationality-wise) decides to try and turn the screw.

Brexit: Tusk says UK trade deal not a priority

I'd see the two year timeline out with the best attempts at striking a sensible deal, then should that fail, simply walk away and hit em with tit-for-tat tariffs.

The EU are seriously risking their public image here if they think punishing anyone who wishes to leave should be made an example of.

Some Scotland specific articles:

Conservative Home: Scottish electoral battlegrounds.

http://www.conservativehome.com/parl...-scotland.html

Have a read through the comments at the bottom - the guy from Edinburgh highlights what I've suspected for a long time; people will still vote SNP even though they don't believe in independence because they hate the Tories even more. He also mentions the state of the Scottish fishing industry - heavily reliant on foreign workers (east asian and east european) and exporting most of their product to the EU. Lastly, the voting pattern up here will be positively byzantine on the three Unionist parties side which may well lead to the SNP doing better than predicted as the opposition vote will probably be heavily diluted.

A critique of the current state of the Scottish Tories:

http://derekbateman.scot/2017/04/26/...-of-the-light/

Again, highlighting the lack of any policy that really differentiates them from the main UK party, unlike in the past. Not being seen to fight Scotland's corner at UK level does them an enormous amount of harm. That perception is very important as traditionally people up here have expected their elected representatives to look out for Scotland's interests.

Lastly, this article highlights at least one reason why Scottish business is a bit lukewarm about Brexit:

http://www.insider.co.uk/news/smes-s...nt-eu-10288754

That small and medium Scottish companies depend on EU workers comes as no surprise. I've known for years that most employers will not pay to have people trained up for fear of them leaving and taking their new skills with them. From the employers point of view that's money wasted so it's led to the situation where they prefer to hire people that they don't have to train themselves. That's where the Eastern Europeans come in. They're cheaper too.

Lastly, YouGov poll for current voting intentions:

https://twitter.com/TSEofPB/status/857732259012587521

SNP - 41%
SCon - 28%
SLab - 18%
SLib Dem - 7%
SGreen - 3%

IndyRef intentions, same poll:

https://twitter.com/britainelects/st...34471113723907

NO - 55%
YES - 45%

Food for thought.

Mike.
