Don't worry. It may take a little time, but everyone will be named as soon as we get it sorted out. Start with #956 on this page for one horrifying revelation.

Now that would be a scary ride! Almost as scary as being driven all over Texas by Neal:rotfl:

Just joking Neal!

ROLF Mate you did a great job of keeping up with him. Mind you it did seem to be a Texan trait, combined with buying cars with no indicators.:rotfl:

I WAS following him. That is, until he left me behind at a red light, while crossing Broadway Blvd. in Galveston.

I wish I would have known about this meet. Would have loved to help clean up and meet you guys. I've been lurking and occasionally participating in this community for years and it would have been fun to meet you all finally.

On the other hand, it was my observation that he always signalled before he changed lanes. A lot. In fact he changed lanes several times on the freeway for no apparent reason. I think he was just toying with us.

All the Grey Wolves dodged out of the clean up stuff.
We always get in trouble when we go near a Fleet Boat!!
:rotfl:

We did try to have a productive meeting in downtown Houston
that day.

But between the Beers and beggers?

Yeah, we were jokingly cursing you for bailing on us, and laughing about what a great time you guys missed. I even said "they came all the way to Houston just to ignore us!"

But when you said none of you had ever met before, I realized that, jokes aside, that extra time to yourselves was just as important as any of the rest of it. I'm glad you took it.

Wish I could have been there to talk about SH5. SH4 is just at the playability takeoff point and Ubi's business model demands they get another infusion of cash by shooting it down, while yet again reinventing the wheel. It is SO hard for me to see any good coming of that. They're insisting on pushing a rope and wondering why they don't get good results. It's time to break the mold of kiddie popcorn FPS games and make a new business model that actually works with simulations of quality.

Hint: simulations are played for years. FPS and RPG games are played for weeks until the kid beats the game and then discards it. The business model that doesn't reflect that reality is destined to fail. Customers are left unhappy and the game company realizes a small fraction of the revenue the game is capable of producing. All of us lose.

Don't reinvent, refine! Don't reinvent the game, reinvent the business model! Simulations are not video games. They can't be produced like them. They can't be sold like them. Well they can, but everybody loses when they are.
RR, I think you can calm down as long as you haven't seen anything official from UBI yet.
RR,
Calm down as Dan stated.
Nothing is official and all the 'posts' from the SS meet were done jokeingly!!
Dan's a tall drink of water for sure!
:rotfl:
And above all?
He truely cares!!
If anyone was really concerned about the future of Ubi's plans?
They should have been in Texas.

It's easy to carp about things.
It's harder to drive 1200 miles, one way, to do it face to face.

Hang in there Elanaiba... how lucky we all are to have a team that DOES work to build simulations of a common thing we all share interest in.

Keep on truckin' Elanaiba!
