Well you made the frontpage,
Great job! I finally had some time to read the latest, you have also captured the essence of my character, buried in papers and stressed about recent losses. As BdU would say, keep up the good work!

Heather,

That is some quite exceptional story telling.

Really good writing and technical detail, and a great dramatic start with having your boat sunk under your feet in the first chapter!

Keep them coming, and kind regards,

Thanks again gentlemen.

WaW will be starting a new campaign come June and I am planning to start an entirely new story starting from the beginning of the war. Of course, depending how long I manage to stay alive will bear great weight upon the length of the story.

Best wishes!

I see there's a sub story writers contest to enter. Go for it!

It has been submitted. Wouldn't mind seeing one of those books when they come out.

I like your signature. I got caught up in Wisconsin once when a blizzard hit at 35 below with a windchill of -70. Before that, I had thought zero was cold, Ha! I don't EVER want to be that cold again. Beautiful country up your way but you can have my share of it in the wintertime.

Cheers!

Thanks, but around here it's more like the steppes of the Ukraine. I'm 150 miles south of Winnipeg. Only got to -31F last winter before that it was like Moscow 1941. With a period of over two weeks with highs of -18F to lows as far as -44F. Thank God not much wind. And one has to love the blizzards. I'm 47, when people ask why I live here; I always tell them, it was only three years ago that I found out we we were free to leave. I think you're a shoe in to win the sub story writer's contest.

Miss Behavin,

My buddy was over the other night after work. He's head cook at a very popular steak house here in town (the Bronze Boot) and my after work hangout (on Fridays). He mentioned a gentleman he had met at work.

His name is Doug Davidson from Winnipeg (150 miles north of here). Apparently he is a producer. Video, television and motion picture. The company is called the Peer group (capitalizations are his on the card).

You might want to give him a try?

I have his address, phone and fax numbers. Sorry I couldn't find a web site.

I think your story has great merit and you should maybe test the waters. Odder things have happened on this planet.

Let me know and I'll give you the address and phone/fax numbers if your interested.

What do you think everybody? Should she go for it? I have my vote in already.

Thanks! Sure! Go ahead and PM the info to me. If he seems interested, I'll have him take a look at what I've written here. If he likes that, well, who knows . . .

Yes, I know that there were never any women Kaleuns, but the story is certainly more credible than some of the other crap I've seen them try to dish out. It's pretty sad when I go to the video rental store and for every movie that looks interesting, I'll pass up fifty.

Thanks again!

No, there were no female kaleuns, but science fiction (both books and movies) is ripe with female captains. Since it's all fiction anyway, and Marlena is a very credible character, I say go for it!

GREAT!!!

This is what I have from the card my buddy gave me.

The Peer Group

Doug Davidson, Producer

106 Alburg Drive
Winnipeg, Manitoba
R2N 1L9

Phone: (204) 987-7500
Fax: (204) 987-7504

Video - Television - Motion Picture

Good luck! And keep us updated.

Yes, I couldn't agree more with you guys on some of the junk they put on the screen. The last movie I saw in a theater was Dances with Wolves in 1989. I missed a couple of good movies in that time. But not very many at all.

Miss Behavin's story is the best I've read in a long while. Which I might not be a very good barameter, since I read very few novels.
I read mainly of course, history, Second World War. I have a library of well over a thousand books and still growing. Lot of good memoirs coming out these days. One from here in North Dakota. Combat Officer. A good read. Written somewhat like his war diary.

Well that's enough. If we don't speak again today. Have a great weekend everyone.
