caspofungin -- when i signed up for this forum and had to choose a nick, i was in a singularly unimaginative mood and couldn't come up with anything. started looking on my desk, saw a pen froma drug company -- caspofungin, an antifungal agent. Thought it would do in a pinch.
Back when i used to play Call of Duty and Day of Defeat my nick was BulletMagnet cause I ate so much lead. |

I think mine is obvious, and I've done this before, so I'll leave it at this. I was a sailor once, before many of you were born, and I think I remember my first name being Steve at one time, but I could be mistaken.

I like poker, I also like unfair advantages. I find the analogy of trying to cheat the devil's game a fitting reference to warfare, I especially find it a very snug fit for commanding a U-Boat as well. C'mon, you all know you have that same evil laugh when you find a convoy with a lone escort that happens to be sailing straight for you anyways!!!!!!!!!!
![]() *Eh, side note the Dead Man's Hand contains five aces, most notabely with two Aces of Spades - the most (for lack of a better term) valuable card in poker, it represents death. If I could change my icon, it'd be the Dead Man's Hand - on my conning tower. To sort of expand on this thread, how many people know what their numbers represent? I recently chose a bombed out VII-C, I changed this when researching U-238 (A previous choice of mine) and found out that it had gone down with all hands lost. How many people know the history of prefered #'s?

Legend holds that Wild Bill Hickok was shot to death during a poker game in Deadwood, South Dakota, and that the hand he held was two pair, black aces and black eights. On that most people agree. The fifth card is not known for certain. This is the only Dead Man's hand that I have ever heard of.. in what context does the 5 aces hand appear? |

Guess he will keep that 'up his sleeve ?'
![]() OT - Bellman :- ''The bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan; for its a knell That summons thee to heaven or to hell.'' ''It was the owl that shrieked, the fatal bellman, Which gives the stern'st good-night.'' Macbeth. ''And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.'' John Donne. It represents a portent of doom, a reminder of your mortality. If you hear it ringing you are a dead man. I usualy manage a chime or two as my torps close in for the kill. ![]()

(translation: Sabbath shalom, Avon Lady, I am happy to hear from you. I live in Amsterdam but I was born in Tel Aviv). I am sorry to react so late. But since SH III my computer is much slower and regulary crashes. The thing is too old anyway. I don't play games myself (yet), so no female wolfpacks (slicha), but my son told me this forum held some interesting opinions. I was confronted with threads about the Holocaust, the SS and Islam, some postings with excellent opinions, some with shocking views (for me). But interesting this forum certainly is... ![]()

Kapitain = commander of a ship, military rank, <= Capitaneus (Middle Age Latin) <= Caput, capitis (Latin) = head, like in: Kapitain: "head a random moment".

In my case, well, I used Usenet before coming to webforums, and there (at least on the more or less decent forums) it was normal to use your real name unless you were a troll. I came to webforums without realizing that using a real name is almost not done.
Oh well, no suicide bombers at my front door yet, so I suppose it didn't do much harm ![]() |
