In GW2 can we enabled our avatar showing like up top in the corner or something or did they take it out completely. I miss this & im use to watching that to check its health etc when fighting. Another thing is i wish the UI was moveable not complaining how its is, just wish i could make the UI smaller on screen.

yeah, I don;t like the chat box but it can be moved into 2 positions only. I doubt it can even be permanently closed.
I've taken armorsmithing and weaponsmithing which means that now I have to get twice as much materials such as claws, blood vials etc...A pain in the neck since I have to spend 1-2 hours every day farming these materials in low-level areas. But I hope there will be some 80-lvl fancy weaps and armors available.

Have you ever wondered where the Charr get there dance from? Well its the Haka the Maori war dance. The other night i stop to go make a coffee saw some others dancing in kryta so parked my charr there and hit /dance. Came back and notice WTH the Charr do the Haka!

Notice the similarities between the two, the Haka can be performed different ways.

Charr doing the haka

New Zealand All Black rugby team performing the haka

So if you are ever doing a dynamic event in GWs and come across a Charr warrior dancing before the fight that will be kiwi_2005

This is my character from "The Secret World" which I just bought last week. Not a bad game, certainly very different from other MMOs which is obvious by the modern setting. The pic is taken in London which is the home base for the Templars faction. Other factions are Illuminati (New York) and Dragon (Seoul), for those that have not read any info about the game.

If anyone else has it or has plans to get it my character is William "Highbury" Bleddyn and I rolled on Arcadia, but you can group cross-server.

Gratz Kranz

I'm playing 3 characters Thief, Guardian, Ranger. Get one to a couple of levels then move to the next and repeat gonna take a while to get them all to 80. I couldn't make up my mind what to stick with as i like all 3 so decided to level them all. Leveling up in this game is not a grinding slog. The Guardian is awesome heals-over-time (hots) means i can bash my way through any mobs and survive the outcome.

Thanks

I must say I'm pretty disappointed. Why? (apologies for a few spoilers)

PvE:
-dynamic events are really cool. You do hearts (quests) and encounter a chain event giving you a few copper coins, exp and karma. Cool thing.
BUT
after you reach around 75-80 you will need to enter 2 zones which have to hearts, events-only areas. The problem is moving between these events and avoiding "death". Without going into details (no spoilers this time): it's a pain in the a...to do them. (since you cannot teleport to contested waypoints).
IMHO, a completely failure. Sorry, but ANet has always claimed that they want to remove this "grind-like endgame" and they replaced it with something much worse. At least for. I almost completely lost interest in doing these chain events...
-instances. Another big LOL. I went to Arah today (an 80 lvl instance). Took us around 1 hour to get 6 items which can be obtained in 15 minutes while doing dynamic events. I thought that instances should give something more than blue/green items. (bear in mind - blue items are worse than green - not like in WoW). I won;t even mention several wipes bcoz of...
-communication. In WoW, when you wrote something; a whisper, /say /yell etc it was displayed as a line of text. In GW2 (dunno, probably in gw1 as well) when u /say or /w it is displayed as a bubble with text which disappears before you realize someone is saying something and rotate your camera. Another complete failure. I haven't checked the game settings for this, yet, however, I doubt this could be changed.

PvP
Well, I bought this game for PvP. But I don;t like it.
sPvP: Pvp within your own server. Not bad, but the maps are only "urban-like". No flat spaces such as Arathi Basin or Isle of conquest. (WoW). In sPvP you get a basic PvP set of items which later on can be upgraded in the Mystic Forge. Haven't figured out how to do it, yet - even after watching 2 y.tube tuts...I'm really dumb.
WvWvW- World vs World vs World. 3 servers fight against each other on one huge map. Important note: you fight in your Pve gear which gets damaged after your death. For me, the whole idea behind this WvWvW is sooo utterly stupid that I dunno where to start. The best tactic for this type of PvP is: stick to the mass. Just stick to all other players, get your FPS to 1 and fight. Sorry, it's just dumb. No place for individual duels, just retarded mass vs mass. Ranged professions FTW. My dps warrior dies like a cheap s...That's why I decided to buy/craft some tanking items for a axe/mace+shield tank+heal build.
A few more comments about PvE/PvP mechanisms (which on a side note suck hard) will be posted tomorrow.

I never pvped in GW1 how you couldn't jump and kite properly. It was mainly stand still. Now with GW2 i might try pvp side as we can kite and jump but not really to worried about it if it turns to custard. With WoW now thats a different story i pvped my way to paradise and hated pve.

So for me its WoW for pvp and GW2 for pve.

yeah...I'm considering selling me account.
Maybe not now...but gw2 pvp is not wow pvp...
Anyways...
Here's my warrior, full exotic, except jewelry. Berserker set+Berskerker 2h Greatsword.

Gw2 is not a game in which gear stats are put above gear's appearance.
When I crafted my exotic set, my guild mates were like, doh...how about dungeon gear, low-level sets and all the rest? Why should I get them, I asked. Bcoz of their appearance, they said. Dafak? Appearance?!!!!111one
Gimmie a break...I need good gear to kill people in PvP.Period. For me it can have a look of rusted plates. I don't give a damn about how it looks. I need good stats, not a shiny paint on it.
I still need around 9-10 gems so there is still sth to do. Found a good way to make gold. Lots of. It's based on chance but still gives quite a lot of profit. Will test it and give you more details.

Agree, doesn't matter what the appearance is, its all about the stats! They mustn't be pvpers.

Hey Kranz did you take a peak at WoW? I did , son bought the expansion i was mad, i aint going back to wow! Im sticking to GW2! But i went back... the force is strong man. Forget about the panda the expansion is good. Grinding dungeons to get to 90 then gonna try out some pvping.

I haven't given up on GW2 tho with no monthly fees it will stay on the hdd and i do enjoy playing this game.

I didn't. Wow is too addictive. I need to find a job instead of finding another substance
GW2? Lost interest. Seriously. WvWvW is one big mess. When Blacktide is winning I'm like "yeah, gimmie moar, baby". But when we are losing, I alt+F4.
I switched to good old starcraft 2. Trying to improve my macro.
Back to mmos:
Wow will ALWAYS be better than GW2. No matter what all those fanboys say about gw2.
Wow has become a classic. Instances, raids - short, long, easy, difficult. Don't like PvE - we give you all sort of PvP which is constantly being "balanced".
With the "no monthly fees" policy gw2 content will soon become obsolete, boring and unbalanced.
For me personally, it was ridiculous that the best sort of gear can be obtained in what? - 3 weeks? Lawl. Even less than 3 weeks with proper gold balance and a few tricks.A legendary weapon is a challenge, I admit. But with the ...load of karma from WvWvW and a few TP and event tricks it would be possible to get a legendary within a month.
What I demand from a MMO is competitiveness and fun. But only it this particular order. Gw2 gives "a lot" of fun and competitiveness in the second place. Too many things are based on chance imho. Maybe I'm a bit biased bcoz I played too much WoW. Maybe. But Gw2 was announced as a revolutionary MMO which was supposed to overthrow the King. Indeed, there was a coup, but a failed one. GW2 lacks the variety and flexibility of WoW. Instead of giving more options, or at least introducing these which already implemented in Wow, they reduced their number.
C'mon - who has time for a 3-4 hour trip to Arah on explo mode? (80 lvl instance, sth like a heroic mode). ANet thinks that ppl get excited bcoz they venture into personal stories, instances interrupted by videos etc. Bull...
Some actually do. But up to a point. People are selfish and greedy. They need gear - that's why you kill bosses. I can go to Arah 2,3,6 times. But that is max. In Wow, I could farm Icecrown Citadel ad infinitum because it offers gear unobtainable in different ways. The bait offered in GW2 is no match to the bait offered in WoW. ANet still needs to learn A LOT.
