I'd look at the depot ship and find out what flotilla/squadron it served then look up the squadron for what vessels were in it.

EG...HMS Forth...served 2nd submarine flotilla 39-41...and the vessels were:

2nd Submarine Flotilla (Capt W D Stephens on FORTH) - depot ship FORTH (comp 14 May 39), destroyer MACKAY (19 May 19), submarines CACHALOT (7 May 38), NARWHAL (11 Mar 36), PORPOISE (15 Jan 33), SEAHORSE (26 Jul 33), STARFISH (27 Oct 33)

@utops, no, it will not. By the time I finish, it might end up as it's own mega mod, or at least on par with RUb1.45.
I have made a list of things I would like to include in this mod;
British Submarines (Duh)
British Campaign (Another Duh)
Reworked GUI
British Minefields

Anyone have anything to add to the list?

U-Boat traps i.e. decoy buoys derelict ships and british submarines listening and surface vessels waiting to pounce the u-boat. These would be in the eastern minefields protecting the coast u-boats fall for the buoy cavitating and emitting screw noises like a merchant, false radio traffic would ensue also trapping the u-boat into overhauling the target for a shot and BAM! torpedo from a submerged british sub! This was a very dynamic aspect of the u-boat war left out of the game as well as SOFAR Bombs and Sonar Buoys dropped by aircraft which could result in absolute death. ( the faroes was a major british sub base? )

A 'dynamic' campaign.

That sounds like an awful amount of work, but none the less, I will at least add the derelict ships, and U-boats. I am not sure how to add new bombs for aircraft, that is the only reason I will probably not be able to do it.

I will try, jim, I will try so hard to make it dynamic.

Default Scene.dat file

Does anyone know how to edit the scene.dat file? I have tried with S3D, but it doesn't seem to change anything ingame.

@U570.

I would love to see a british campaign for SH3, ive tried the med campaign for SH4 but tbh, i wasnt all that impressed, i think its because i'm a lover of GWX and SH3. So i'd be eternally grateful to see a full RN campaign, as im a brit and i feel real guilty for sinking my own, lol.

Also, can anyone tell me what tools i'm going to need to get modding myself, as i have a fair few idea's i'd like to implement myself, and maybe, if i get 'upto scratch' you may be able to use my idea's and work for this well antisipated project

Thank you, and that is the same reason why I am trying to complete this.

The tools you would need are:
Silent 3Ditor
A 3D modeling program (I use 3ds Max, but you can use Gmax)
Photoshop or Gimp
7-zip
JSGME

Thank you for the info. I already have S3D and am getting used to it, although i want to learn ship design and campaign structuring as i have a few idea's on using historical battles i.e the Hoods sinking by The bismark and the naval bombardment of the normandy beaches to spice up a campaign, though im unsure if thats a possibility or not, as i dont know the games paramenters or limits. Also, i'd like to see if i could replace the renown system, like for instance, instead of improvements to ships you could earn a commission to a larger ship, so you'd start the war in a destroyer, and through good performance work through the ranks from light cruisers to BB's. The improvements to surface vessels and sub's would be 'free' as the navy has always fitted its ships to a high standard to keep our isle's safe. All this with your blessing of cause, and after ive learnt how. To that point, i dont suppose there are any kind of tutorials on using these modding tools and how you go about modding are there? if somebody could give me a quick 'walkthrough' of how, im sure to pick it up quickly.im a quick study and a brilliant artist, ship design should come easy to me and i'd like to be able to contribute to this community as i use other peoples mods and feel i should offer something back.

Thanks in advance to anybody willing to help and thank you U-570 for your reply.
