It's good to know that my sig has made such a big impression.
The only impression it gives is that you are a small minded bigot who likes a sick ideology which any sane person knows gave the world millions of reasons to detest it.

Actually I'm with him on that, Neal. IMO someone promoting a known and self-admitted racist/neo-nazi artist in a totally non-ironic way on the forums more than deserves being called out on being small-minded and bigoted.

As for prison-likeness, well, I point you to Michel Foucault's "Discipline and Punish" which makes a pretty convincing argument that Western society over the last 2.5 centuries has become increasingly prison-like in general, especially as regards public institutions, education and work. And that's not a 'horrible truth', that's just a comment on the fact that accomplishing projects on the scale that we take on as society needs effective management strategies, and prison is the best-managed model we've yet come up with. Sad, but fact.

What's more, it's prisons that have become more like the rest of society, not vice versa. For one, modern school discipline precedes the institution of the prison as we know it by many centuries. What we know/think of as prison today didn't even exist a few hundred years ago, or at least was almost unrecognizably different. Schools are also recent, but in fact it's easier to see how schools and Enlightenment education have served as a model for prisons. Though it would be more accurate to say that both schools and prisons developed in parallel from much the same sources, and this parallel development continues today. Nothing surprising.

Has that bad math education let you down?
You have in front of you an apple and a box of oranges...how much does the half a grapefruit cost?
I don't eat school lunch. I was just making the point.

And yes, in some subjects, I do know more than my teachers. Is it supposed to be BAD that I do extensive research into some subjects? I'm an expert in the Pacific theater of WWII, all aspects of the major air forces of the 20'th century, and politics. I spend weeks and months and years researching and consulting with leading professors and authors simply because I enjoy those topics. Is that a problem to you?

Quite frankly you haven't managed to prove any point with regards to my first hand allegations, only to piss me and several other people off. To be honest I think an admin should review all the unprovoked insults you've been issuing in this thread.

Just because we don't share your elitist (in appearance), "the government knows best", point of view, doesn't make us wrong. That attitude is bigoted by definition. In fact, it appears that most people in this thread are against most of what has been talked about here.

Now, back on topic. With regards to detention conflicting with child care arrangements, let that be the parent's problem. It isn't the school's fault that the kid did whatever they did to deserve a detention. If it messes up the arrangements, let the parents deal with the kid in their own way after they serve the time. It is the kid's fault. The kid has to serve the punishment for the crime eventually. Reschedule it or something - don't let them off the hook.

I got suspended my 8th grade year for cussing out a rather large crowd in the hall because they were talking crap about my late brother. Did I get out of it because my parents had nobody to "take care" of me? No. My father drug me to the office every morning, which was not only humiliating, but boring as hell.

I fully recognize that this response is emotionally charged because I will not be called unintelligent by somebody that doesn't even know me.

But you didn't make a point, your "point" was pointless. you tried to compare two things that are not comparable and even used an equation that defies logic.....not a great move when you are saying how clever you are.

So comprehension isn't your strong point either.
So then....
Breathalised .....wow
Cameras......
Random drug dogs....and??????
Officers WILL question during searches....CAPS LOCK strikes again
Rumours abound.....schoolboy rumours, is there a dead student hidden in the basement and is the gym teacher really a poof?
It is more horrible than can be written.......Language not your strong point then, pretty overdone on the Drama too, hamming it up somewhat.
they teach you what, not who, when, how, why, or what if........so you expect all pupils to spend months if not years learning the minutest detail of one tiny aspect of one tiny theme in just one of many huge subjects You clearly get confused over the differences between secondary and tertiary education
I hold merit due to .....you have demonstrated that you don't really

Come to think of it wouldn't your belief that you are more intelligent than teachers make you somewhat elitist?

Since you had to invent an attitude to apply to me it doesn't say much for the validity of your application of a definition.

So you think you are so high and mighty as to tell me what I do and do not know. I had no point to make - only allegations.

I have proven that I know more American and Military history than my teachers. Deal with it. I've written countless comprehensive reports on it just because I could - not because I was assigned to - all of them citing information gained from.first hand accounts, leading professors, and highly rated authors.

Now - I'm done with you. Your entire attitude is why most Americans have distaste for Europeans. If I go further my gungho American football player attitude will get me banned.

Don't you mean petulant schoolboy attitude?

I wonder why people don't take schoolkids complaints about how unfair school life is very seriously? I mean it is such a novel concept I am sure no one has come across it before.
But thanks, it was funny to watch you demonstrate how you are unable to grasp even simple concepts. I must say your "elitist" and "government" lines were absolute scorchers in the hilarity stakes.

Dear administrators, I am getting close to the point of using 4 letter words that I try so desperately to avoid.

Please do something about this mental case Euro Elitist piece of dirt.

As for you, the afore mentioned dirt bag Euro Elitist, I challenge you to a debate on the fundamentals of American history and government. Or we can debate the Nordic conquests of "your" people (the Anglo Saxons - even tho there is much doubt as to whether or not any tru Anglo Saxons exist).

I will not sit here and let someone that stands against all that I am for call me unintelligent.

PS: notice how he so blissfully ignores all the background information and examples I provide.

Here at GT, if we disagree with what someone posted, we ignore and move on. No need to call for the moderators to do anything.

If you get this riled up over a posting on a video game internets tubes forum, you might want to rethink your temper.

People disagree here all the time. There are posters here that I pretty much disagree with everything they write. But I don't let it get to me.

Life is too short to get spun up over what is written on a video game forum website.
