odd indeed.

I will definitely be getting the game, post-release, as I have a check to wait on (while I can foot the cash now... I have a trip coming up that I need money for in case the check DOESN'T come.)

Definitely my kinda game. always loved Film Noire, and wondered how hard it would be to make a game of it.

Only way it could be better is to have a camera mode that makes the film b&w

No idea about ATI, but NVIDIA control panel allows you to turn down the digital vibrance, making your monitor B&W.

Actually there is an option included in the game to play it b/w
I would recommend using this option, as I hope that the devs use a different lighting when playing with this filter.
The game is already for sale in a local shop here, they got it today

I have to say it's pretty fun. Although from what I hear it gets receptive. Love that you can pick up misc items that have nothing to do with the case.

I'm going to play through it in b&w straight away. It just feels like it needs to be given the music and the era. Reminds me a bit of Sin City (the movie) which I highly enjoyed, and recommend everyone see at least once in their life.

at least he has the sense to tell you.

"I dont think this is relevant"
"it takes a guy smarter than me to put that together."

I love the game so far.

EDIT: almost forgot to add in how awesome the dialogue is, and the fact those facial expressions count so much towards solving a case.

Have to say out of my 3 partners so far, Stefan Bakowsky(sp?) is my favorite.

Cole: Don't work so hard guys
Stefan: Aww, look at chatting with the guys, I love seeing my little caterpillar growing it's wings.
Cole: Just trying to fit in.
Stefan: Educated, Hard-working, Straight as an arrow, I hate to break it to you, but you'll never fit in.

The store is still down so I can't download my two cases .

Picked it up today loving it so far, the facial expressions really are stunning. My only niggles with it are that some of the other animations (walking etc) can be alittle awkward, and the driving, although it feels quite good, I noticed that when you turn the car seems to slide slightly rather than actually turning.

Alsp has anyone heard any reports about it not working on certain PS3 systems? A few people on another forum I'm on seemed to be saying that there have been rumours of it not working on some 40 and 60gb PS3s and also that Sony have blamed Rockstar for the prob and Rockstar have blamed Sony. I would google it but for some reason my interwebbingz are slow atm

For the record it's working fine on my 3 and half year old phat 60gb with the latest firmware.

I purchased the game. I am enjoying it quite a bit, though I think I am poor at interrogating suspects. I am in my first big case after the tutorial, and I think I just blew it with a suspect. We will find out...

I like it so far, just fear a little the replay value after I finish all the cases, though I'm only at case 6 so far.
When I played 2 cases together with a friend yesterday, we noticed that often we were so much in this truth, doubt, lie - game that we looked too much at the facial expressions (and not to forget the gestures), rather than just asking: what motive has this person to lie or withold information, or if they have a motive at all

I started this game yesterday. I like it a lot. The cases are fun to solve. Getting around town is a blast in the old cars of the era. The animation of the mouth to the voices is excellent. Thus far if I were to rate the game 9.5/10. Replay value -.5

dunno how far in you are it gets starts to get a bit old after a dozen or so cases (find clues > drive to location > interview >chase scene). theres also not very much solving goin on, the game just guides you through it. it feels more like an interactive movie than a game. even the interviews are a bit lame in that even if you screw them up it doesnt really affect anything apart from your overall score.

i feel after an hour or so of gameplay im reaching for the off button. i was really looking forward to it after the exellent red dead but its a bit of a let down tbh.
