I've found the range. Am I assuming that the furthest it can possibly be from the carrier is half the range, being that it needs to have sufficient fuel to return to the carrier?
I guess it's a shot in the dark. The range (if I'm reading it correctly) is well outside of sonar range. All you can do is set a path back along the path of the swordfish, and hope that when you reach the calculated range of the swordfish that the carrier hasn't moved so far away that you can't hear it on sonar.
