"Excited" would be better word to use. I've stopped being excited about SP experience looong ago after seeing game after game after game fail to construct an epic story (Bioware's holding out well in that regard). There's so many games that would have been awesome if the story would have been properly though over.

Not saying Blizzard can't make good stories, Warcraft 3 had a great story for example.

My beef with SCII's story is that everything just "pops up", usually without any explanation. For SC veterans this is not too big of an issue because they know the backstory about the first war, but for those new to the series it looks like lazyness; just throw everything into a basket and throw the player in it. What's the current state of the universe? Are humans pushed back? Recovering from the first war? Or did they come out clean and have since expanded? What's the story behind the Emperor? What happened with Raynor and the Protoss in the past? Why is Doc Hanson such a whiny bitch? When I can be arsed to clean my apartment? Is filtered coffee better than MacGyver coffee? What is that black spot on my wall? Why is Arclight going away->online->away all the time on Steam?

Aye, fair enough.

I agree that the characters kinda pop up out of nowhere. Start a mission, some doc starts flapping her gums and next thing you know she's settling in on your ship.

The backstory is described in the manual though. First 8 pages are the usual technical stuff on how to double-click an icon to start the game and who to complain to if you can't manage that. Pages 9-19 deal with the backstory. Knew absolutely nothing about the first game, apart from the fact Koreans are really good at it. Thanks to the bit in the manual I don't feel like I missed anything.

I really must say I think this is a good, even remarkable release... at least by todays standards. (yeah; which standards?)

Warcraft III was indeed a great story, but still you would be left in the dark if you hadn't played the previous games to understand things they where babling about. but that's blizzard for ya

funny thing was when I played a bit with SCII I couldn't help to notice that SCII is based on the same engine they used for Warcraft III but heavily tuned up. Hence the low system requirement the game needs to run nicely and looks very nice too.

I haven't played it that much but was intented too...but the voices are like broken glass against my ear drums so have to wait till my English Game client is finished downloading.

Well that was easy. They just don't make them like they used to anymore, don't they?

In Wow you can tell whos brought SCII, as you get an ingame achievement and a miniature Marine to run around with you, last night in chat thats all i read ''so and so has earn the SCII achievement'' etc., with miniature marines tagging along everywhere ingame

Some have said that blizzard have copied dawn of war II in gameplay and similar story, is this right Haven't played DoW II

As for me i think i will give SCII a miss, I want to try it out but even though this pc ran the beta i got a funny feeling it wont run the full game - I could just imagine some player with a zerk rush of 500 units coming at me only for my pc to have a mental fit and restart

Nope, the gameplay is different in that SCII uses the traditional RTS concept of build base and rush. DOW II has no base building and you control only a small squad.

Aaand no, the story is not copied either from what I remember from DOW II. How the campaign works is very similar to that of DOW II. The concept of the game world has been, should I say heavily influenced by that of Warhammer lore.

@Refan

Are you forcing anything on from your Nvidia control panel? If so, try going back to "let the program decide". I had similar problems with one of the Hitman games when I tried to force stuff on.
