Looks like we're gonna get this sucker head on. They're forecasting 75-100 mile an hour sustained winds here tomorrow night. I'm well prepared with plenty of canned soup, bottled water, booze and cigarettes. I'm actually playing a fun game while watching the continuous local news coverage here...every time someone says the phrase "hunker down" or a variant of such, I'm taking a swig of my drink.
I suspect I will be falling down drunk withink 30 minutes or so. ![]() Captain, the hatches have been dogged down and we're rigged for hurricane weather! ![]()

Worst case scenario, this will be a Cavalla grounds clean up party. Hopefully the damage will be minimal to the Seawolf Park. I guess we'll find out. i'll bring my leather gloves and help clean up the place.

Neal, along with all others in the path, I pray for your safety. I'm tired of hurricanes myself.

Thanks, Snakeyze, and don't worry, Bill, I'm headed to test depth in 24 hours.
Hmmm....looks like the Cavalla cam is frozen. No surprise. Here are some general Galveston cams.

Looking at the most recent maps from the National Hurricane Center, the storm should hit my place around (and I'm guessing on this) noon this Saturday. Missouri is even going to take one hell of a hit; so is Illinois.
![]() Ike is really powerful from the looks of things. |

Even German news cover Ike regularly since some time. Good luck to you all. Hope you can ride it out unharmed.
Honestly said I am glad that we do not have such things over here yet, and not with that yearly regularity. What we know with some regularity is strong but "normal" storms, and spring floodings in certain areas around major rivers, but that does not compare to the violence and threat level to so many lives of a hurricane.

Ike is nothing compared to subsim's warring modders, Neal. Much more wind and hot air from those guys.
