I also have a new wermacht uniform, but I think I need to redo it. Sucks that you cant make the skins higher resolution, atleast not by just simply resizing the files.

Gah, what happened to the simple AI being clever type of difficulty? I'm on the third mission as German and this gets my blood boiling! I have 4 squads of infantry against kazillion russkie dug up on trenches, then I have 6 no good tanks with blind gunners against 4 T-34s, atleast 3 AT guns (which also seem to withstand tens of direct HE shells), T-60 light tanks that seem to fire minigun loaded with armor piercing nukes. And if that's not enough, after I take those suckers out, the enemy gets reinforced with almost the same amount of forces!

Lol, did I also mention the one T34 that blew up 4 of my so-called tanks that were firing at it at point-blank?

*goes to mod himself a nuke*

Rofl... it's on easy..

Tho, I'm getting hang of it slooowly, continued my allied campaign and I'm doing pretty nicely in terms of tank vs. tank combat. Still, I hope someone will make infantry only mod, I'm more of a inf guy than tank.

With the battle generator you can make whatever you want. I tried it last night, and put up a massive infanterybattle over some hills. I of course had Blenheims and arty as well as my British chaps. Ze Germans were crushed, hehe.

PS: In tank battles a tank with elite crew can cause havoc, as they are able to fire on the move (and hit), while inexperienced crew have to stop the tank to fire (and miss). This is why it is very nice to have some crewd with you all the way.

Oh well, I finally managed to complete the missions with only 2 tanks as damaged and few infantry killed. Just took it easy and waited for the russians to get impatient and attack, which they did and lost 3 of their tanks and whole bunch of infantry. Then I just moved my tanks to hills around the railway station and picked out any AT guns & tanks they sent at me.

Hehe, I have countless of retries on several of the missions (I play medium difficulty), and it often helps to change some of the units, and of course the strategy.

Something that is REALLY important, is to order hold fire on the AT guns until the enemy is around 600 meters away, if not they will spend alot of armour piercing ammo on looong range, which is a waste. The penetrating power is crap on long range anyway. (And HE is useless against tanks when you are out of AP) It is of course quite exciting to watch armour advancing while HE rounds fall all around your idle AT guns.

In some of the missions you have no tanks at all, only infantery and AT guns. That is true horror.

Just FYI, Stabiz, I started today a project to replace all the infantry skins with more accurate ones. Winter gear for the wermacht, more brownish uniforms for the US paratroopers etc. Also, I'll see if I can find nice weapon skins to replace the current ones.

Wohooo! Grey ...eh ... Tanks modding crew on the case.

The sounds are great, by the way. I am storming a hill with the Americans right now, and that Thompson sounds sweet.

Just to let you know Stabiz, I figured a way to extract the sounds from Close Combat, so I'm up & running again. As for the skins... well... I need to see if someone knows how to make the game use higher resolution skins before I decide if I continue on them. But you will see atleast one skin released, better camo for the allied sniper. I hate that urban-ish camo it has now.
